But you've never lived in an entirely free market system.

I don't like Right-to-Work laws, and I think both sides in Wisconsin have good and bad points, but overall this article is the first to sum up my feelings well.

It's not the Walker's good or evil, or the unions are good or evil, they just made a bad bet and lived in Candyland too long, and now they're stuck with the consequences.

The mandate's unconstitutional, but the bill dies without it. Obviously no one would buy insurance if they couldn't turn you away for pre-existing conditions. The only way the insurance industry stays afloat is with the mandate, if pre-existing conditions aren't a basis for exclusion.

I don't really believe in positive rights anyway, but the system's certainly fucked.

The Devils are on a 20-2-2 run... wow. I don't know if I've seen anything like that in my entire life, and they're still a long shot to make the playoffs.

For the East, I think the top 6 teams are secure although they could switch their order around a lot still. I think Carolina and Buffalo will get the final two spots, but the Rangers, Leafs, and Devils are all possible playoff teams still. I don't think the Leafs will make it though, and I guess some people haven't given up on Atlanta but I did a while ago.

The West is so tight that it's tough to call anybody 'out' except Colorado and Edmonton.

As for the Sabres - Brad Boyes has played great. Stafford's one of the best in the league for goals per game, and his OT goal in Minnesota was awesome. The team doesn't have the talent to compete for the Cup, but it's nice to have them playing better in March than they have in the rest of the year. Last year and in 07 they coasted into the playoffs and weren't at their peak in them.

Those books - Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - are all cool, quirky, funny ideas and books although they're things I've read chapters of, not the whole. I don't know if it would work on film, but it might be amusing too. Or horrible. Either way I'll probably check it out if it comes to fruition but this is actually the first I've heard of it.

Sabres traded a 2nd round pick for Brad Boyes, who has a year left on his contract at 4 mil after this season, so he might not just be a rental for this year's playoff run. I like the move although Boyes is going to have to produce better than he has in St. Louis this year and last.

Starting a long road trip with NYR and Carolina so it was a good time to bolster the roster.

I wouldn't mind unloading Connolly or Hecht on some team before the deadline though.

It's from a Dre album, of course it's gonna be good. And I liked that none of the flashbacks had 50 cent in them.
