So what's this? Another Batman movie with The Joker in it? What's the deal? It does look good though.

its the sequel to Batman Begins.. which is pretty much a whole new series of Batman movies, independent of the earlier ones  from the 90s.

Well wouldnt it set the record straight "from Slash's perspective"

some of the stuff i have heard about that is in this book, he talks about alot of things, from what i understand, things we've never heard about before....

but if "from Slash's perspective" is not the truth.. what good is it?   And if he is talkin about things we haven't heard before, how do we know its not more bullshit?    this book is to be read with a grain of salt.

If I was Axl, I wouldn't want to talk to the fan base either.    There is a lot of good GnR fans out there, but theres also a lot that feel like Axl owes them something and puts the little bit of info he does say under a microscope.  go to mygnr and look at any thread and youll find people ranking on him, members of the band, people close to him (beta, del, baz).  people whining that its not the original lineup.   i'd see that shit and say "fuck it"!

Anyway, I don't think anyone really cares about this album anymore besides like 500 internet fans. Move on, everybody.

apparently you still care or you wouldn't be posting here.

i'm done speculating .. its really stupid.    I'm staying out of these threads untli theres a release date or something from Axl, because seeing some of you guys keep stating your opinions like facts gets really annoying.

Yes I know it for a fact. My friend knows someone who works at Geffen and as of three weeks ago they dont have the album.

and my friend has a cousin who knows this guy whose gay ex-boyfriend's boss's brother had lunch with Axl Fucking Rose yesterday.   And I know for fact its been handed in.

GUNS N' ROSES: CHINESE DEMOCRACY 2008
By Anthony Kuzminski and Mark Strigl

For the last 9 years, we have been anticipating the release of 'Chinese Democracy.' This will be Guns N' Roses' first album of new material since 1993.

Despite the years of waiting, and the departure of 4 of 5 original members, the public has not abandoned this band. Gn'R's 'Greatest Hits' record, which had virtually no promotion, hit Billboard's top 100 at #3 in March of 2004 and hasn't dropped off the charts since. Online discussions about the highly anticipated 'Chinese Democracy' have been going on for years. Over the past few years, live performances and a few rough mixes of new songs that have leaked to the net have whipped both devotees and cynical journalists into an excited frenzy. It is evident that the craving for a new Guns N' Roses record is so intense that fans will buy or do almost anything to feed their appetites for destruction.

Today we would like to go on record by saying that just because there is no longer an iconic guy wearing a top hat on lead guitar, doesn't mean we can disregard the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose is a brilliant artist who defies the norm with his unrelenting willpower. New cuts such as "Better" and "Madagascar" confirm that Guns N' Roses still have thunderous artistic expression inside of them. In a day and age where rock has become way too safe, Axl Rose brings back uncertainty and danger to art form that has been lacking it for far too long.

A massive league of loyal fans continue to keep the legacy of Guns N' Roses alive, and whenever 'Chinese Democracy' finally drops, the fans' patience will be rewarded.

I love seeing positive things written about Axl and the band.    These guys have always been supporters.

this album. I've said many times this album probably wont debut in the top 10

This is silly, without any PR the album would make the Top 10 on interest alone, it may not go multi-diamond though...

As for money the band would've made alot more money releasing a few albums...

I agree, when and if CD comes out, its going to do great because

1. the mystique and legend surrounding the album
2. the time involved, people are going to want to see what took so long
3. first GnR studio album in nearly 15 years
4. quality songs

granted an album doing "great" doesn't have the same meaning it did last time GNR released an album.   It doesnt' even have the same meaning as it did 4 years ago.

So then why were the shows in Jan. canceled?

to get the album finished up?   it went into the mixing stage in february (according to del james).   who knows whats up with it now but apparently there is issues with the label.   no use in trying to speculate on what it is or point the finger and blame people.  we don't fucking know.
