Buckethead was the best guitar player GNR have ever had.
And by no means do I mean this as a disrespect to Buckethead, but come back & tell me when Bucket writes the next WTTJ intro, or for that matter, come back and say that shit when he writes a SCOM intro & solo. Come back and say that shit when Bucket sells bazillions of records worldwide. Bucket is a avant garde guitarist to the bone, but he most definitely not the best GNR guitarist.

But i'd definitely be curious, just for curiosity's sake, to see how people opinions would play out towards GN'R if it was Axl & Slash, surrounded by Ron, Richard, Tommy, Frank, Dizzy & Chris.
Son, if Axl & Slash were to take the stage together, there'd be no need for a 3rd guitarist.

Actually, I think Fortus is a world class musician. If Axl had any sense, it'd be a band of Brain, Bucket, Fortus, & Stinson, IMO. The day that quartet had hit the studio, I'd of kicked the others out & gone on from there as an Axl Rose solo project. Richard Fortus is nothing to sneeze at.

I would guess being in a band with lesser talents, take Finck for instance, would get old very quickly for an elite talent like Bucket.
