#201 Re: Guns N' Roses » So who on here would go to a GNR reunion? » 896 weeks ago
Hell yeah, I'd go...in a New York minute!
I still regret letting my parents talk me out of seeing them back in the day. They were worried after the riots and shit. At the time I figured, hell I'll be off to college next year and I can go see them then. Well, we all know how that turned out.

James Lofton wrote:I'm about to watch the first episode of season two. Scored some more weed, and since I got nothing to do, I think I'll watch quite a bit of this season tonight.
I thought I was the only person who had never watched this series. Didn't think anything I said would be a spoiler to anybody. Russ, you should definitely get the first season.
The series as a whole was great but you'll see as you watch season to season how it becomes less raw and more like dreams states, other interests and psychological stuff thrown in and it took away from that raw in your face Goodfellas feel with a hint of that but all in all a great show indeed.
Sounds like this series fell into the 'X Files trap". Very original and creative, then buys into its own hype and the quality heads down the toilet.
Exactly!!!! Also they got alot of flack for being too violent and that is also why the tamed down the later seasons alot.
I mean don't get me wrong there are later episodes that I like but it's not like the first few seasons, none of the episodes top those. Wait till you get to the Russian and the pine barrons
Oh and wait until Ralph gets on the scene, oh boy!!!!!!
Pine Barrens was the episode I was thinking of in particular when I said I really liked some of the later episodes. That episode was classic!
#203 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR issue statement about Robin » 896 weeks ago
First of all, I don't know if this is thanks to the new management or what, but it's nice seeing them actually post stuff on the official site fairly frequently these days. There wasn't really anything for like 9 months and now we've had 4 "updates" on there in the last month. I hope the flow of news continues and expands.
However, though I understand how robin's actions may have taken them by surprise, it's been what a week now? I know if someone in my band took off unexpectedly, I'd be giving the guy a call ASAP to see what's up. Did someone misplace robin's cell phone number?
Maybe they do know and just don't want to say anything, but "Neither we nor management, etc., know any more in this regard and we prefer not to speculate or offer opinions at this time." just seems like a weird way to state things.

Cool! A Sopranos thread I can participate in. Living in Japan where we get everything so much later, I've always had to avoid these threads because I was afraid of spoiling it for myself.
I'm still waiting for them to release the damn season 6 DVDs over here so I can finish. I watched up through season 5 so far and can kind of see what DTJ was saying, but there's still some episodes in later seasons that I really like. I know they're secondary characters, but I can't get enough of Pauly and especially Sil. Those guys crack me up.

Just thought I'd mention, when you switch to any of the updated skins, you might have to clear your browser's cache for the new version to show up.
Awesome job dude. Looks amazing. The smoke is a nice touch.
Thanks. Yeah, I've almost broken my arm patting myself on the back about the smoke. I had planned that all along, but it took so freaking long to finish the first version that I just skipped that so we could get it up on the site as soon as possible. I still have post-traumatic stress from James hounding me.
#206 Re: Guns N' Roses » What IF Robin Finck has left GNR. Will you still follow GNR? » 898 weeks ago
yes...if the muppets were backups to Axl in GnR i would still be checking online to see when i could expect CD to be released...i've never been an NIN fan...and robin going back to play with trent doesnt change anything
no disrespect to finck of course
That could very well be my dream show. Animal rocks on drums! Dr. Teeth and Janice backing up Axl on vocals would be sweet. And I'm sure Floyd could handle both bass and a role as "musical director." As long as Axl adds to KOHD and LALD with a bad ass cover of "Can You Picture That?"
Seriously though. Hell yeah I'll keep following GNR. I'm open to the new members, but it's the original band that got my interest in the first place, and after hearing VR I know that it's Axl's voice that makes it for me personally. So as long as that guy is singing, I'll be listening.

I'm so glad I stopped drinking. Jaeger wants to kill me.
Jaeger tried to kill me last night. I think it gave up on you and came after me.
#208 Re: Guns N' Roses » Man Arrested At Gunpoint For Using MP3 Player » 906 weeks ago
Seeing "Man arrested at gunpoint..." in the GNR section, I was really hoping to open this thread and read that some fan had gone nuts with the wait and had gotten arrested while trying to steal the CD recordings.
I wonder if he really was listening to CD or if the author of the story threw that in there as a joke.

Happy birthday, Axl!
I'll drink a shot to celebrate....tomorrow night....after work.

I don't think they look weird, or whiter than anyone else who's white.
They don't. The point is their "dad" used to be a black man. shhhhh!
