what I'd really like to know is:

a) when can I purchase this single through itunes?
b) why in hell was it not available for purchase on day 1?

I guess they have their reasons huh?

I'm sure the Best Buy deal excludes them from selling it at iTunes. Of course, there's no excuse for not selling it as a digital download at bestbuy.com. Or if they're not going to sell it, then give it away for free and make even more publicity for it.

I would love it if they did a digital single with the album version, maybe a live version or two, and a demo version or alternate mix that we haven't heard. Maybe even an early '98-'99 era version. If they sold that for $5, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.

I'm not gonna kid myself - when it leaks, I'm going to listen to it!

Someone tell me the difference between active and mainstream rock.

According to Wikipedia:

Active rock is a radio format used by many commercial radio stations across Canada and the United States. Active rock plays current rock artists with a mix of classic rock songs. An active rock station may include songs by known and popular artists such as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and AC/DC in its playlist. Whereas a modern rock or classic rock station would not. Similar to active rock stations, mainstream rock stations play current rock music, but concentrate more on classic rock than active rock stations do.

Mainstream rock stations are between classic rock and active rock on the programming spectrum, in that they play more classic rock than active rock stations, but play more modern rock than classic rock stations. In many ways, mainstream rock is a successor to the widespread album-oriented rock (AOR) format created in the 1970s.

So it goes Classic/Mainstream/Active/Modern in the mix of old to new rock.

I googled it and came across this: http://rs289.rapidshare.com/files/12571 … rities.rar

And no, it doesn't sound anything like Axl.

If The World: song is what it is. Very basic, and very good. I'd like to hear a rap remix one day by some one, preferrably Eminem. It'd just be so cool to see Em & Axl on a stage.

Have you heard the Buddyhead remix?

If it's hard to read the article after photobucket resized it, here's the original hi-res scans.

Not a bad article, but what the fuck is up with putting the guys from Hinder and Nickleback on the crown? I mean, Metallica and AC/DC, yes, but those other disposable pop radio fluff bands that no one will remember in ten years? I think it would have been a better illustration if they would have put Slash and Duff on one side and Bucket and Fink on the other.

#208 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy First Tour Dates (FAKE) » 876 weeks ago

While that's certainly a less than credible source, I checked pollstar and neither of those venues has anything else listed on those dates. Still, you'd think they'd kick of the tour in a larger city on the east or west cost, and wouldn't work their way up to Canada until several weeks into the tour.

Of course another possibility would be that those could be warm up dates. But again, why to them in such out of the way locations?

Great. Can someone upload an mp3 of this fucker? I can't get Audacity working to record the stream from the GN'R website, and until they release the official single I need something to put on my iPod...

In case you missed it a few pages back, there's an article on a Swiss web page that has what appears to be the single cover art, as well as an embedded mp3, which is downloadable when you read the page's html.
