GN'R better bring their A Game to Glastonbury. Lots of tv and media coverage. If Mickey shows up I can just see the reaction across the UK.

Perhaps they are genuinely concerned that negative responses to new songs might actually hurt ticket sales?

I get why the band is incapable of writing and recording new material. I do find it hard to understand why they struggle to release songs that are ready to go. If they don't give a shit, then why not just let them go?

I'm also starting to question the 'single' strategy, one at a time. Albums have more impact IMO

Back in the day forums would explore at even the slightest suggestion of new music. Either no one believes them or gives a shit now. Sad really

Late to the party here, but I echo the sentiments that the Ritz concert is awesome!  It really captures their essence during their ascent to stardom before things got completely bloated.  Don't get me wrong, I love it all.  But the difference is so apparent.  They were still one extremely cohesive unit.  Too bad Steven couldn't stick around, but Matt mixed in without skipping a beat.  I watched the show by myself and then put it on while playing with my 5 year old daughter.  My wife wasn't too thrilled with that when she got home.  I was responsible and turned the volume down or skipped over the profanities, at least I tried.  I haven't listened to much else though from the box set.

My 8 year old loves metal. Slipknot fan. The deal with him I have is if he repeats a profanity at school or home the music is banned. To be fair it's worked pretty well!

Edit

While looking for that....I spotted this pic.

Always liked this one back in the day...one of many pin-ups on my wall in 88-91.

A great advertisement for that shirt....

The other thing that might tempt me is if they created a line up with some really good supporting or headlining acts. Like motley crue and def leopard. Or Muse and Royal Blood. But I always seem to b underwhelmed with their choices.

The sad thing is they will easily fill Hyde park. Enough casual punters with the £££ who will go down for a few beers or wine on a summer evening to watch SCOM, PC etc and hang out with friends. Lazy management knows where to find the low hanging fruit!

To be honest I'd be tempted simply as I think we're running out of opportunities to see this band. If they got back Izzy and Steven or Matt that would probably tip the scales as would a new album but we all know that won't happen given the timescales needed for a release.

I see GNR are playing Hyde Park in London next year. Maybe, just maybe we'll get a couple of tracks before then.
