It really was a demo....!
The Rock in Rio 2011 rehearsal version is a lot like the changes Silkworms got. More riffy and classic.
It was also slowed down like Hard School seems to be so Axl can pull it off live.
Slash and Duff were against Oh My God when Axl wanted to work on it. Could avoid it for that reason.
But I was thinking which is the more out there song. I always thought Oh My God was very GNR. It’s heavy and the vocal style is very UYI.

I think that wouldn't happen because Perhaps is maybe closest to a mainstream hit or at least one of the few songs that might match the desciption.
I agree. It’s also just totally different to the AFD/CD hybrid. It’s almost… southern rock.
The album will probably just be totally scattershot. Here’s hoping we get some new stuff us downloaders haven’t heard.

I’m interested in the direction of the album.
Does Axl’s description of CD 2 as more of the same but a bit meaner still fit?
It would be funny if great songs like Perhaps were left off because they don’t fit his vision or whatever.

Okay 5 listens is enough for now.
I miss some of the older elements, the throbbing bass in particular, but Slash's additions are great.
He added his drunken sway, the soloing is good, and it's got the classic Gn'R flavor.
The guitars are too low in the mix though, imo.
It's an Out Ta Get Me type song that is perfect for the gym and I think a couple of lines are catchy as hell.
Woooooooo.

Truly terrible single cover.
Slash and Fortus turned this from an experimental type track into a raw and gritty rocker. I dig it even more.
