We interviewed him years ago, he is a stand up guy. You need to be less the minus four guy and stop firing out misinformed opinions.

i'm sure he is a nice dude but almost everything he has said has either been false or just straight up lies i'm not saying it's his fault maybe that's what management want him to say but it does get annoying when he confirms a new album or denies a song that exists saying that it doesn't exist and for us fans it does get frustrating we just want a straight up answer that's all

If it helps, he says in the same interview that Axl is secretive, which is where you are maybe coming from.

I think with regard to the release of albums, it would be easy to disregard what Fortus says because the process of releasing albums has been frustrated a lot of times by the record company

I think by this time Slash was already back in the fold and (speculation from my part follows) Axl may have commissioned Fortus to look back into the 94-96 vault (that Axl has described as "the meanest riffs since Aerosmith's The Rocks") and sort what was worth working on.

Allegedly there were almost-finished songs back then, so it may be those + the other song ideas.

Exactly my thoughts, so we could be looking at some material from a golden age and different material to what we have heard

Also, Axl may potentially draw a line under material majorly sourced from departed members of the band.

Just something random from 2015, Fortus states some of the new material may have sourced from Slash years ago;

On new material;

“Some of the stuff come(s) from nothing and some of the stuff is stuff that we’ve been working on that were ideas that were already there,” guitarist Richard Fortus revealed in November. “Some of the stuff Slash did — it was the beginning of the seed of the song that’s been around for a while.”

What's the track record of Has It Leaked?

They are connected to the record labels rather than the bands. It's a better source than some, but more about expectation than fact

This.

When the reunion happened, even though it's been decades, I hoped it would go back to the early 90s with how they handled press/promotion but also speak directly to fans through social media.

I realize they may walk on tightropes keeping it together and don't want one misinterpreted comment to upset the apple cart....but come on.

With comments being a rarity, it doesn't feel like a band....it feels like a touring machine, which is what it is.

We're four years in and still haven't heard the full story of how it all came together.

I'm hoping we get more insight when they do promotion for the album/tour.

If Axl releases a good and honest autobiography in the future there is more to the reunion story than you'll ever know that goes back many years

I'm clocking out until January with work. I have spoken to management of Slash, Duff and Axl, and the tour people. Nothing from the Axl camp as per usual.

Anyway, they have been and are recording a new album, as already mentioned. The NITL tour is over, as already mentioned. The dates just now are festival dates, they do not need a tour name, and that will be the focus for now. When things start happening, we will start to see individual city dates.

Not expecting any news until after the New Year, the band feel they will be able to release an album, but there are still unknowns ahead, hence the festival dates for now.

The record company appear to be happy, so I don't know what lies ahead in terms of potential obstructions.

And that's it.

Thanks, man. I'd love to know how much they've (re)recorded already.

I don't know. Obviously HardSchool will feature

It's a shame, because I was in conversation with someone about it, but they got all legal in the conversation so I had to end it. I was talking initially about the leaks and how they may affect any new album. They seem to know something, but the conversation all went pear shaped.

There is not a lot out there. It's hard finding anything. It'd be nice for the band to put up updates. I don't see the need for all the silence in this day and age

i hope to god that the new album is called stay of execution and i also hope that the album will be released in march if not march then august

It's not going to be called Stay of Execution, the trademark expired a long time ago and GN'R have never trademarked album titles, so it was never likely to be an album title.

Ok I’ll wrap up with this...

With smaller checks coming in from the tours, it will be interesting to see how well forged this new bond of Axl/Slash/Duff holds up.

Slash is seeing it as a new album and tour cycle, then back to his other band, release and tour cycle and repeat. According to his camp
