#221 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ron leaving the band after Vegas? » 549 weeks ago

Sounds like the best move for Ron. He clearly hasn't been happy for a long time and Guns certainly won't be the creative outlet for him that he is looking for.

Ok, there appears to be an intention of releasing new music next year, so I might start rolling with the Splat thing in the new year.

I'll take a look in January and make a decision then.

Awesome, I hope it happens.

I am trying to imagine Canter back in the day?  Was he cool? A male groupie super fan? Stalkerish? Is he trying to profit off GNR now but under the banner of trying to tell a story and get the truth out? Is this a cash grab for him for being a fan since the beginning?

Yeah I don't really understand the guy and his motives these days? It almost seems unhealthy his obsession/love for Axl. From what I can tell Axl turned his back on him and burned him, yet at every opportunity it seems he wants to bend over and grab his ankles and present himself to Axl on the off chance he might give a fuck about him again.

As for a movie, if you are looking at it from a business perspective and hoping for mass appeal, why would you have a movie that only really follows a timeline up until the AFD days. For a casual observer you would be ending the movie right at the point where the story line gets interesting. People would at least want to see things up until the complete demise of the original band.

Yeah a movie of The Dirt could be some good light hearted entertainment. I thought there was talk of doing it a while back too, no idea why it stalled?

#225 Re: Guns N' Roses » Reckless Road Bio-pic » 553 weeks ago

Yeah I really can't see this happening. Without licensing of music this wil be crap.

Also from what I can tell Axl wants nothing to do with Canter so I would imagine he might even go out of his way to make things difficult.

I was sure most of you probably would purchase a copy.

I have just restrained myself from listening to snippets here and there or one or two songs.  I wanted to listen to the whole thing at once.  But I'm guessing there is the full album download out there now?

The lack of chatter here about this new album blows me away.  Seriously, anyone other than Gibbo, Metallex, and maybe Mikka/D listen to this?  Oh forgot Lomax.  This is a killer record!

I have restrained from listening yet.  Was gonna wait for my CR fan pack to arrive.  But I may relent and listen prior to then.

#228 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Anyone Received Classic Rock Pack Yet? » 564 weeks ago

Nah I haven't got mine yet.

Happens all the time with Classic Rock, they tell you that you will get it early but you end up seeing it in local shops released and yet you still don't have it.

I only ordered thru them again as I wanted the Mag with it.

Honestly what could possibly still need to be done to this shit that would take up to another 2 further years to finish, when presumably the songs have already been worked off and on for roughly 20 years. Ron has said they haven't worked on new material so this must be existing stuff.

I'm happy to hear new music but shit, stop overthinking it and just release it.

Yeah seems to be the story of this guys life - missed opportunities due to his own stupidity.

I never listened to it really heavily, but I actually thought it was a solid album for him.  A little dated/cliche the sound but still thought it was good.

Shame he seems to have wasted the opportunity with it when it came out.
