One of the finest films of the 80's?

I remember the first time I seen it, it was on channel 4 uk tv, on a friday night in the late 80's when I was a wee boy, 8 or 9 years old- after the Cheers and Roseanne slots big_smile
It was promoted for weeks and I dunno why, mabye it was a regular movie slot, but the film had a big intro by Chris Kristofferson or however the fuck its spelled, I'd love to see it again, I dunno what the fuck that was about, I'm just going by memory.

Anyway, Arnie was King of the late 80's 9 Looking back what blows my mind is, all his films were 18 certificate, but they seemed in a way aimed at kids, I was just a wee boy and my parents were reasonably strict, but they never had any problem, and neither did my friends etc's parents, with hiring out videos for the kids with Arnie in them no matter how violent they were lol. There was nothing better than relaxing with the family and throwing on an Arnie film and watching him blow shit up and beat the shit out of baddies 14

PS this video is awesome!

Mick did more Chinese Democracy promotion than Axl did when the album came out, I even spoke to him and he dedicated Madagascar to me on his radio show. I thought he was an ok guy, he was generally very complimentary about Axl and New GNR but he could never resist throwing out a wee jab and a backhanded comment. The thing is about Mick, his firsthand knowledge of of Axl ended back in yore but he made a career out of spreading heresay as fact in the aftermath of their falling out, thats pretty low, but a "journalist" through and through.
I'm actually in Axls corner when it comes to this disagreement that Mick was untruthful with Axls words in that interview, coz Mick always harks back to the "fact" that he has the tape recording of that interview and doesnt release so's not to embarrass Axl, but I just cant believe a media whore like Mick wouldnt ride that recording and wring every penny out of it as he could if he genuinely had such a thing.

Its simple, the hall of fame inducted the Guns N'Roses who existed before Axl legally dissolved that band, and not the one thats existed since he legally formed a new band with the same name and made his former and future bandmates employees.

And Dizzy is an idiot, he's just toeing the company line 16

Also can you make posting youtube links easier so you can just copy and paste the whole link into the youtube brackets, instead of having to delete the www.blahdeblah part of the link?

I'd like to see the old and new GNR sections merged, but wouldnt it get a bit messy merging the download section as well? Also if theres no line in the sand drawn wouldnt the section become dominated with Slash's solo career? Mabye having a all encompassing Guns N'Roses section for old and new, but keep a side projects forum for solo careers is better.

I dunno about merging any of the other sections, I think they are separated well enough.

I think it would be a bad idea to make it readable to members only, that would be the death knell, aas would stopping new registrations.

I dunno about the social media aspect either, I think most folk like the privacy of using a music forum, as opposed to the way facebook is nowadays where you cant even fart without it flashing across every fuck and their dogs computer screen. Facebook pretty much lost me when they brought out that ticker thing, totally ruined it for me.

Its hard to see where the forum goes from here, in the long term I can see all the smaller ones dwindling away and eventually MyGnr being the only one left, mabye its already happened. I'm glad I got to experience the heyday of GNR forums when there where umpteen with a variety of discussion, the internet was new to most folk and there was a few generations who grew up with GNR and then got introduced to the internet and lapped up the chance to chew the fat and download unheard and unknown bootlegs of their favorite band. First thing I ever typed into a search engine was Guns N'Roses. (remember that horticulture 44 gnr something or other lol?) Now we're all older with less time to spare, and more importantly all the discussions are old. Theres nothing out there that I havnt read a million times or I myself have said to death, and I know thats how most of the forum veterans feel also. Any new kids coming through with a passion for GNR arent going to migrate to the smaller little used forums, they're going to head to the biggest and most active one out there. Theres not even a htgth anymore to compete with mygnr, thats as much of a ghost town as GNREvo.
The only thing that will truly give a shot in the arm to the forum is a new album... I dont even have a glimmer of hope and dont even care a jot anymore, I'm deeply uninterested nowadays. I'm right back in to original GNR though, thats where any passion I have now lies, thats why I think merging the old and new sections is a great idea!

Well what does everyone think?

I havnt got too far into the game, I'm only up to the scene where Trever walks into Michaels house, I've been playing it in dribs and drabs. I think I've spent most of my time playing it just driving around, the scenery in this game is mindblowing, its so realistic.

Only thing I'm disliking is the gun control, I find it pretty cumbersome, I've tried adjusting it various ways and its still clunky.
Infact I've still not managed to beat that scene where Michael smokes the joint and has to shoot the monsters, its doing my nut in.
