Guitarist IZZY STRADLIN has said he is keen to see the original members back
Anyone else see this? I wonder is this from the source or where are they getting this from. I doubt its true tho. I don't think a reunion will happen but -
I kinda hope there is a reunion just to shut all them boys up at htgth - jarmo, jim bob, chineseblues and adz. I've never seen someone hate someone else as much as they hate Slash. Every little thing he does is analysed to make him look like an asshole. I wonder if they really mean everything they or do they realise how rediculous they sound. There comes a point where you have to let it go - we know you hate Slash - no need to troll every thread till someone says something stupid and then they get to ban or give karma to a "Slash-loving hater of the current band."
They assume that anyone who dares suggest something Slash says might be the truth or that Slash doesn't have an agenda in saying something, that they are obviously are a troll and hate the new band. Its pathetic. I pointed out that all the people who were defending Slash were massive fans of Axl, the current lineup and Chinese Democracy but nobody responded to that.
I just want to see them backtrack if the old lineup get back together.
Haha yeah, I've always wanted to see the reaction on the forums over a reunion. No doubt most of the Slash haters will backtrack, but I bet a few will go off the deep end and abandon Axl. They convinced themselves over the years that CD would be a masterpiece and Axl would reclaim his rock throne and turn the music world upside down. They were also convinced Axl didn't need Slash. I don't think some of them could handle being wrong on every account if a reunion took place.
Jarmo used to acually be more supportive of Slash, VR, and the rest of the ex members. He was always more pro-Axl than anything, but he definitely did support the others in their efforts as well. I believe he was even an admin at the VR board, but his attitude has changed in the past 2 or 3 years for whatever reason. It will be interesting to see how he and his site changes if there is a reunion. If some new band fans starts bashing the original band will he label them a troll?

Better ain't gonna do shit.
The DJ's in my area hate GNR's fucking guts, they hate Axl, and they refused to play CD most of the time.
I'm sure I could be wrong, but I would be stunned if Better makes a splash. Outside of these forums, nobody gives a fuck.
Yeah, I checked my local station's site and they haven't played Better at all in the last 24 hours. CD was played 3 times though.

I thought Creed were alright. Some catchy tunes even if they were a bit pompous.

Haha that's hilarious. Geez Ed, lay off the wine!

Maybe Axl is retiring. Maybe he released this just so we'd stop waiting and bugging him, and to end the bad press about it and now he just wants to live his life and is done with the music industry.
hope not. But it's possible.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Right now I have a hard time imagining him carrying on with this new band and continuing to release new material, but I also can't imagine him getting on board with a reunion. Seems as if he is at a cross roads right now.
Jessica, I can easily imagine that. He very well could be feeling fed up or extremely insecure and vulnerable at the moment.

I don't think it was necessarily him wanting to keep it on the shelf forever, but I think he set the bar for himself so high that he was never going to be satisfied. I think Axl's silence means he's unsatisfied.
In a weird way I agree with you, releasing it is anti-climatic in a sense. I don't think any follow up albums would do nearly as well (unless he pulls out some big radio hits). Though I don't think any follow ups will be in the cards.

Perhaps the BB deal front loaded money for Universal and left Axl nearly empty handed.
Would he promote to simply make the label money? or scuttle the album and release the second album himself?
The problem is if CD is perceived to be a flop then the initial curiosity of CD isn't going to carry over to a second album. So again he'd essentially be shooting himself in the own foot.
I think the explanation is pretty simple. Axl is unhappy with the release and isn't bothering to promote it.

Thats true, but you would have thought regardless, it was in Best Buy's interest to promote the hell out of this thing. I've seen lots of Best Buy ads on tv lately. Would have thought they would have thrown some out there with CD featured in it.
I guess they figured sinking a ton of money into promotion wasn't going to be worth it in the end.

Was Best Buy the let down or was Axl? It's hard to go all out for an album when the artist who recorded it doesn't show any interest.
