I just checked the politics sub for the first time in ages. Man...what a culture war dumpster fire. Also a massive distraction.

You know how the  far left is consumed with protesting Israel, glorifying Hamas, condoning attacks, etc?

There's not a single mention of any of it. I guess they want independents or simply regular people to not see what they are supporting on the main sub that millions check on a daily basis.

Here's their main discussion this week...

Trump
Trump
Trump
Trump
Trans
Trump
Pence
Desantis
Desantis
Trans
Christie
Some MAGA influencer
Hawley
Trump
A republican congressman's wife
Ukraine
Clarence Thomas
GOP Twitter account bitches about Biden celebrating Halloween

Best headline...

Trump channels Hitler for protection, Trump relies on anti-Semitism to lift himself up

Imagine having the balls to post that considering what their own side has been doing lately.

I did find 2 articles but it was about the Ukraine, Israel defense bill.

I was browsing a couple of them and people saying the Republicans can't stand how good the country is doing under Biden.

Question...

If it's doing so good, why aren't you guys constantly celebrating it and posting articles about it instead of the constant Trump bitching?

Latest war news...

The pro Hamas/antisemitism shit is going off the rails on a crazy train worldwide... especially here.

More drones launched at US bases in Iraq. All of them neutralized.

Yemen launched another strike at Israel. Neutralized. Shortly after this, Yemen declares war on Israel.

Israel bombs refugee camp killing 50+

Edit: I'm also wandering if Quick Song was used in Monsters as you talked earlier?

Yeah I brought this up after blaring the song.

It needs to be higher up in the mix or isolated to be able to tell if it's that exact snippet.

It might just be similar but as we know now, they've already done this with Hard School/Eye On You so it's possible.

Slash gives it a good effort. Don't get me wrong. Slash tried his best. Slash couldn't capture the greatness Robin achieved on Perhaps. Thay's why Perhaps would been a big hit on radio and on the rock singles charts if Perhaps with Robin Finck was the Perhaps officially released.

I can't decide if you're a troll or just that thick.

If you can't see Robin is great on Perhaps compared to Slash and in general, then I have to think you don't know what great rock is.

I can't believe I get home, get online, pages in this thread to catch up on, and it's you dominating the discussion with your usual Finck fixation.

You've been doing this for 15+ years. Here, the old forum, the Finck sites back in the day, HTGTH, and sounds like you're on YouTube as well.

Your current posts are just a repeat of your posts during the Village leaks. They actually feel like copy/paste.

You're unique as you don't do anything that's technically a bannable offense and you're not a typical troll/shit poster...you actually believe what you're saying. Having said that, it always reaches the point where discussion is dominated by people having to respond to the drivel while everything else... including the music being discussed...is placed on the back burner.

That's the point we're at right now.

The next step is where you get a 48 hour timeout to decide if you want to keep posting here, you're gonna have to take things down a notch.

That's where we're at now.

I listened to what leaked last week 2-3 times, assumed they were rough demos and didn't want to get addicted to them like I did the Village leaks, so never checked them again.  I am floored by the chaos it/they have caused- i heard absolutely nothing special.  Were there better versions released over the weekend?

What leaked last week?

In a perfect (normal) world...Slash, Duff, or preferably Axl would log into Twitter, acknowledge the leak, and give a brief synopsis of the track(s) and how it went down.

It would be so easy to do this.

It's the only fan base that has to debate which band members are on songs.

Not kicking a gift horse in the mouth...a leak is a leak...but getting information along with the music would work wonders.

Without any bashing, intentional or otherwise, I will express this opinion - keeping in mind its my own only and based upon MY observations re: this band.

As long as TB is 'running the show' so to speak, what you've suggested above has about a -3278% chance of happening, give or take.

One can only hope things change on that information flow front.. but I have my doubts.

Yeah I've been complaining about their incompetence for years. Every single thing they do gets screwed up somehow.

Imagine how amazing all of this could've been with real managers steering the ship.

It's soul monster, they were always 2 diff songs and no strings part was an interlude

Yep...that seals it.

2 songs that got worked on and painted over so many times, Beltrami himself barely recognized them.

Kinda insane when you think about it.

Haven't read mygnr yet today. Some of those guys must be shitting bricks over their "It's one epic song and if you believe otherwise you're a moron!" theory.

Getting to hear both of these songs is closure in a way for me being a fan of the band since 2006.

I need Oklahoma for closure.

Always have, always will.

I'd like one or two others... preferably Seven...maybe Thyme...but Oklahoma is Numero uno, the big salami, the top dog, the head honcho, the creme de la creme, the big cheese.

I love what RTB did with the songs, and I’ll never understand the love for Beavan’s production

The Beavan material is the album(s) at its purest. If you properly mix/master that material, it's ready to go.

The only downside is all the songs weren't finished yet. There's less to work with when coming up with a track list.

Shacklermyrye wrote:

James ill get around to comparing the accapella's, you maybe right about the quick song thing.

I had forgot you were already working on this.

We definitely need it in higher quality... especially The General.

I guess it's an improvement over tweaking that cell clip. 16
