Has anyone deciphered the bridge vocals?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if CD was the best of the bunch.

The record company should’ve signed Axl to a permanent completion bond. It would’ve saved everyone the trouble. Get these out like Kanye is doing now with Ye, Kids See Ghosts, etc.

I like Silkworms. The CD II progeny had the meat and potatoes. Hard rock songs, heavy drums, danceable, catchy vocal takes. But I’ll be damned if that synth bridge makes me doubt that Axl ever knew what he was doing.

It’s just so colossally bad and even worse that it survived the first cut. It’s as pointless as the Riad intro. Absurd!

I don't know how anyone cannot love that intro at a minimum.

It's deranged.

Killswitch intro, killer drums, chunky riff, Tommy's bass. The gang's all here.

Love it.

I never noticed this before but Axl was echolocating in the intro.

He was telling his dolphin friends not to worry, that he would be there soon and he would keep them safe.

An interesting curio is that the lyrics are different from the live versions.

In addition to the cut chorus, cut intro, we now have a section of changed lyrics.

This would make our dearly beloved "Silkworms" the grand prize winner of most dramatically altered song from the Chinese Democracy sessions.

That we know of, of course.

I think they were Zoot’s versions.

I’d bet there’s a complete version out there.

If it surfaced is another thing entirely...

Who's Uni Exec and Zoot?

An executive from the record company, Universal.

Or Tom Zutaut, longtime GNR A&R man and all around good fella. One of the two.

The disco sections on Oh My God are quite strange.

It works best as a rant. If he was gonna rework that one, it’d have to be from the ground up.

But the Buckethead/Brain lineup is really quite impressive. Everything they did is so balls to the wall. I mean think about a CD with 8 of those puppies and then 4 or so downers to even the thing out.
