Very sad to watch. However the general public, the everyday average fans, don't care or even know about GnR @ RIR. They simply don't.

You're looking at it from a hyper focused POV (GNR forum junky) where everything is overblown, over analyzed and over thought.

Does this spell out doom for the tour? Not necessarily. Ultimately it depends on what Axl's problem was last night.

again, i didn't see the stream - only Estranged. but fuck me, there have been at least a dozen GnR concerts that have ended (& performed) more miserably this this RiR

what EXACTLY went wrong that has you people poo-pooing the gig so much? just Axl's poor performance & behaviour? i'd say that that's all typical enough, especially the first show of the year..

The fact Axl seemd bored to death right from the get go almost as though he didn't want to be there is a huge red flag. Rock in Rio means a lot to him he's said so in the past. It's the biggets stage in the world and he comes out liek that. No swagger, no fire, seemingly no confidence. It's almost lie in some way he realized this si't happening. I don't know.  I bash on Axl a lot but even I thought the guy would come out on fire tonight and he literally sucked for 95% of the show and what's worse he was gettig all pissy about it yet he didn't seem to care at all about being there. he went through the motions big time.

That's the biggest thing that was missing tonight: Passion.

I'm not saying this to be a dick but at no fault fo the guys in the band whatsoever the reunion crys will be louder now than ever.  Throwing in Estranged was nice but the glaring thing is no new songs or even A song. This thing isn't going anywhere.  People are tired of this.

If he's going to perform that poorly while fucking up the lyrics, I'd rather he just retire than do a reunion where he further embarrasses himself. Only way it would work is if he agrees to do plenty of rehearsals before performing in front of an audience.

Everybody has a bad night, and I can understand that. To me this was more than that. He clearly didn't adhere to the basics and it showed. There is no excuse for this, it appears he took it for granted.

Ironically PC isn't that bad. I'm hearing some of that rasp.

Axl looks fuckin pissed at himself right now.

I feel bad for him. I'm sure he wanted a better night. Highs and lows. For us all. Band n' fans.

One of the weirdest GN'R nights ever.

Yup.

Although I disagree with one aspect, I saw no highs tonight. This was one big bummer.

To say that performance of Estranged was piss poor is honestly sounds liek something soemone would say just for shock value. Not even a real opinion

That's your problem not mine. I've been a fan of this band for what?  25 years now? Have a GNR website, followed this band around the country in 06, and seen them probably a dozen times. Not that I have to define or defend my comments, but I'm clearly not some guy who says shit to shock others or stir the pot. The song sucked, that's my opinion, and if that bothers you (enough to claim I'd say something for shock value) then tough shit.

Bullshit dude. Axl's voice sounded one of the best on Estranged i've ever heard.

Cramer, I love you, but you're totally wrong here.

Axl's voice used to be shit on Estranged back in the day.

Talk to me tomorrow after the elation has worn off. 14

If you found something to complain about with that version of Estranged, you are definitely looking for something to complain about.

That's horse poo. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and my opinion is that most of you are clearly delusional. So elated to hear Estranged (one of my all time favs) that you're willing to ignore reality. The reality is his voice sucks.

You may disagree, but don't generalize who I am (Jarmo lite) and claim I just want a reason to complain, in order to validate your inability accept what's happening tonight. If this was 06 and I was bitching, then maybe you'd have a point. But this performance blows, and it's the worst I've ever seen...EVER. Estranged was a highlight for most forum nerds because they couldn't wait to hear it; but that doesn't mean it sounded good.

It WAS THE BEST version of Estranged any version of Guns N' Roses has ever done. It sounded perfect! Musically and vocally it was perfect.

I'm sorry, I thought it was piss poor bro.

it was very good but not the best.. i think the excitement of finally hearing it again mixed with it being something new/unexpected etc elevated it...

also much easier to play something already written if one thing is for sure.. Estranged showed how subpar most of CD really is.

Yes, I think the excitement is auto tuning everybody's experience.

KOHD vocals are pretty good right now.
