I just have to say the entire fanbase is going mental over this.

^That's true. It sounded like "hey, I dont know what they're even going to ask me, or what they're asking of the old band, so I'm not going to say yes or no to something unless I know what exactly it is, and i'm not going to presume anything."

But Steven, I'm pretty sure Axl and Slash would be able to tell you what started the grudge.

I honestly don't know why Axl was dumbfounded with the way the release was handled. The record company was strung along and fucked over for over a decade on this album and shit load of dollars were spent for no return for yearS. It's hardly surprising that once the best buy deal was done and some dollars recovered they washed their hands of him.

From a commercial perspective why should they have risked spending more dollars promoting it. Axl's previous behavior of refusing to play ball and missed deadlines and promises over the years was hardly endearing behavior. If it was my business I wouldn't have risked any more capital and I would have also dropped CD like a hot potato.

Another thing is the project lasted what - 2 parent companies, and probably 4 or 5 leadership regimes? No one was left there that he had any sort of relationship with.

Nothing's going to go smoothly with that.

I've posted a version of this before, and I'll do it again:

Perfect HOF circlejerk:

*Slash does 'Godfather solo'
*Duff plays So Fine with Axl
*Izzy plays 14 Years with Axl

*Bumblefoot plays Don't Cry with Axl backing.
*Matt and Steve are given gift cards to Chili's and shown the wrong door when it's time for their 10 minute drum solo.

*Dizzy is told to stop looking directly into the camera.

And the whole thing gets edited down to 2.6 seconds for Entertainment Tonight and The Morning After (on Hulu).

Wow, all that video of Slash's band reminded me of how untouchable Axl was in his prime. Slash still has that great tone smile

Russ - so, who would win? Pink Fraud or Roger's band of merry men/merry men + Clapton?

So, basically, I need to borrow Stacy? smile

It appears this method is not directly transferable to my context haha.
"I need you to be my date to this concert, and don't worry, only my recording device will get fresh with you!"

Did you use a windscreen or cotton or anything?

I've looked up the Zoom H's and while they look awesome, I was left with the problem of where you put it! Couldn't very well put it on your hat or glasses or whatever I hear people doing! And it doesn't look enough like a phone! smile

Where were you in the building?

The Chicago one you gave us the hookup with here (from BigDonnie?) was better, but these Zoom things look like they have awesome potential.

Every now and then I try and find 'how' these tapers do it, and more often there's just old advice (give yourself plenty of time to switch the MiniDisc...) or just lists of equipment they used. It would be nice if they put where they were standing and the method. I don't care if they used Audacity. So any bit helps, ya know?

Plus taping a show is ballsy. I think everyone should listen up to how people managed to do it. Replicate and improve and all that.

So far, I don't think I like what estabanf did to it. Sure, he made it louder, but now it just sounds like bass to me (compared to the quick and dirty ones you put up of Better and TIL). (?). I'll wait for the FLAC to be sure. What do others think?

That's a lot of uploading man! Hope your Internet isn't metered wink
Thanks for recording.
