#251 Re: Guns N' Roses » Overall feelings on the CD era songs.... » 943 weeks ago

I like it....I like it a lot....but i have to agree with the poster above who said that this would make an awesome solo record....

not sure if these are out-takes or demos, or songs which will never make it to the final selection, but so far they don't overshadow anything on appetite, or even illusions....

even though they are really good in their own way....

no thoughts....same as all the others before it....
no one can predict what Axl Rose is going to do next...and these guys are just wasting their time...

lets hope not....after all...Axl did pay for their services....lets hope that he kept what he paid for....and judging by recent "reports"....chances are good that he would....hold thumbs....

shit, two out of five guys in that band are ex-gnr members....that's almost half a band....hectic....of course, they were in nin first.....but still....its quite a statistic...

A few interesting things i found on Robin's website....when you dig a little deeper....

ok, the site was done by these guys: http://rmnet.com
i think they're doing his new one too.....so when you visit them, you can see their work for other people too...

wasn't there a "theory" bs statement about some photographer on mygnr who someone else claimed had done work for gnr for the new design of cd?

anyway, when checked out, this photo snapper....http://www.ceaphotography.com comes up on the list of "clients" that media house has.....and guess what?
in her portraits section, our dear Robin appears a few times....interesting?

well, almost as interesting as the fact that another "client" of these guys is a film house which can be visited on http://lowellnorthrop.com/ and nothing spectacular there, other than some commercial work...but when you check out their short films section...you get another GNR reference in there....

now...not saying that this is some breakthrough, but in recent years it has been shown how members of GNR have been recommending their friends for some GNR work....Frank Ferrer being the last example of that....Brain was brought on by Bucket...Baz suggested that Bubbles loser.....and so on and so on....

perhaps this type of a culture went on behind the scenes in production too?
maybe these guys know a bit more than us and have done some work for them other than what is obvious?

it just seems weird that seemingly unrelated clientèle's of this studio with no connection to each other whatsoever other than the fact that they all use the same supplier have some sort of a gnr interest or referrence in their portfolios....

am i just going crazy, or is this making sense to anyone else?

hah...he got his old look back....i guess Trent didn't like the beard...fuck, he looks happy there, and some of those rehearsal photos really look like he's rocking out with them...

Pretty cool that he acknowledges BH.

he always did...if you think back to all those interviews when Slash was still genuinely interested in CD and was commenting regularly on it, he would always refer to the band guys as "session" musicians....all except BH....he always somehow singled him out in his speech, saying that he didn't know much about him so he couldn't comment too much....

he knew...he knew like most of us that BH was possibly on the road to completely replacing him as this hero from GNR...and in a way he respected that...

i would guess that he respects him even more now, because he can relate to him more...i wouldn't even be surprised if Slash considers having BH as a guest player on his solo record in the future...

#260 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz talks about the general and the "trilogy" » 946 weeks ago

some of the things Baz says are quite interesting....which could possibly shed some interesting light on the whole "negotiation" process which they say is happening now...

if he indeed has crafted this behemoth as a package which consists of more than one full record, chances are pretty good that one of the following scenarios could be "sticking" the process right now:

1. Money. He perhaps wants more money because he is not delivering an album but an album package instead, and feels its worth more than a single record. This combined with the fact that according to many, GH "plugged" the 13 million gap, his argument may easily be based on wanting a new deal altogether....and with Uni objecting to this, as they clearly see it otherwise...

2. Release dates. If he has some sort of a "conceptual" connection between multiple records and wants them released at specific intervals, he may want a guarantee that they will all be released with as much enthusiasm as the first record would be....i.e....same marketing spend, so as to get his message and vision across...and Uni suits may not like this....releasing the first album with a serious marketing push may be agreeable, but logic dictates that the other two's spend would be decided on by the success of the first one...and he may not like that, thus demanding what some may see as unreasonable...

hence the deadlock...

also, the 2012 thing....best case scenario, lets assume that this would be a release date for the final of the three records...with a year in between them....thus placing us at 2010 for the first one....say goodbye to this year and the next....unless the 2012 thing is the first record of the three...

for those gnr "historians"...do these dates carry any meaning within them....?...i.e...anniversaries of whatever in Axl's life or whatnot...?...sic...would you know?

Baz is a loudmouth, but his recklessness with these comments regarding Axl may just cost him his friendship....unless Axl is using him to fuck with us...who knows...
