#251 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash & The Conspirators new album WORLD ON FIRE due 15 September 2014 » 578 weeks ago
I pre ordered the Classic Rock fan pack version of the album. I don't really buy cd's any more so when I do it's usually so e thing like this so I get a bit more than the cd. I think Slash's last album was the last time I bought a cd. Lol

I like the fact BBF speaks his mind. He probably only does it out of frustration because he hits a brick wall internally when trying to address things quietly.
The others don't seem to do the same since some of them have Axls cock so far down the back of their throat they can't speak. I would rather some brutal honesty and personality rather than just spewing the company line every time. Tommy seems to be his own man tho and to a lesser extent Fortus.

I'd certainly be curious to hear them but I wouldn't pay much for it though beyond the price of a regular CD.

Geez is this guy still trying to make a buck from those recordings.

So could Street Child be considered?
His guitar work in that is amazing, probably almost my favourite piece of his playing post Guns. The emotion his solos in that convey is remarkable.

Had a quick look at ISE, he sounded good. Then I jumped to SCOM lol, awwwwweeeee my ears DJ. Haha
DJ shoulda stopped after the first few notes and got his bloody axe in tune. Stop/starting would have been better than playing on.
Good seeing Duff there and hearing him on backing vocals on ISE.

Short and sweet but still cool.
I had never heard of the Golden Gods awards before Axls nomination, now having watched the vid the whole thing looks a bit budget. I imagined something a bit bigger and more professional. Still cool, just not what I had pictured in my head. I will have to watch some of their performance now.

So Axl made an acceptance speech? Is there anywhere I can watch it or do I have to wait until youtube vids pop up?

Yeah I still would love to have heard vocals on that track! By Grohl or Axl.

Perhaps he is desiring playing in a band again with a fan base of some size. Unlike Izzy who in the main tends to want to shy away from the big gigs, perhaps Axl is a good option for Duff to play in a sizeable band again.
I think if I was Duff going from playing in GNR and then VR which still had a reasonable size fan base, to playing in a band like Walking Papers etc, they really are poles apart. No doubt he probably enjoys getting back to his roots and not having to worry about big band issues etc, but at the same time if that was it for the rest of his musical life, I dunno, if it was me I think it might feel a bit empty and I would still crave for some of those big stages again from time to time.
As for the money thing, from what we can tell I'm sure Duff has probably managed his money more wisely than most of his former band mates, but it doesn't mean it's not a factor. I work as a Financial Adviser and I see people with shitloads of money that theoretically never have to work again despite their extravagant lifestyles, but fuck me are some of them still driven by the almighty dollar!!! There's nothing wrong with that, but my point is just because people are wealthy it doesn't mean that they stop wanting to make more money or it's not a factor in their decision making.
Besides, what may seem like sufficient dollars to you and me may not be to them, it's all relative. Whilst Duff doesn't appear to have a crazy lifestyle like Axl with hangers on everywhere, he still roles in different circles to us mere mortals, so there would still be a much higher cost of living to maintain. As for his wife working, my guess is she would be more of a liability on his balance sheet than an asset - most women are lol.
Anyhow, I'm probably reading way too much into it. Duff was probably asked to fill in to help Axl out and he was happy to do it, help to bury any past ugliness and have some fun playing a big stage again. At the same time, who knows where it could lead, if I were in his position I might look to keep that door ajar too.
