I like the chorus in SR the least. IMO it's horrible. On the other hand I think the "ooh..." OMG chorus (or more likely a bridge) is awful, too, but the "Oh My God, I can't deny..." chorus is pretty catchy and I really dig that. Although OMG has some horrible parts (out of tone guitars, out of place part), it's among the better rockers (CD, Better) of the Nu-Era. The others are barely listenable for me.

Not releasing any album for 17 years menas he's damned afraid of taking any risk, I think. Wanting to make every trend isn't too risky, too. I'm not saying that Slash is taking any risk, but he risked much more when he left GN'R, then Axl has ever done.

That's an unfair accusation and you know it. There isn't "Slash hate here all the time".
what box does Axl think outside of? Is his logic then that if it doesn't sound like GNR, it's brand new, it's groundbreaking, it's good?
He pushes himself and those around him. None of it is groundbreaking, but he is outside of his element on some of these tracks and he deserves kudos for that. He could play it safe if he wanted to by recording another AFD. He's also a lyrical genius and is light years ahead of former gunners in that regard as well.
If I wanted to hear NIN, I'd be on a NIN board, if I wanted to hear stale hiphop beats, I'd be listening to that, if I wanted to hear less impressive version of the most mediocre UYI ballads I'd listen to the UYI's without Slash&Izzy.
Well, that goes both ways. If someone wants to hear extremely dated GNR-lite, they'll listen to the resumes of the former gunners.
He can't write another AFD without the people who wrote that album. I agree that he's a lyrical genius, although he's more cheesy than a 15-year old boy before losing his virginity. He's thinking outside of the box... well, last time I checked 80s cheese, hip-hop elements and industrial rip-offs were in the box. There is clearly nothing 'outside of the box' for Axl. The song structures aren't special... I mean... they're special, but in the wrong way: forced mixes of non-matching elements. Unfortunately Axl can't put together a song anymore, as it seems. Some of the new stuff is great (TWAT), some has elements of greatness, but... it's simply not enough. He should write better songs in 2 years than 3/4 of the material we've heard.
I used to have a 'plan' to take revenge on Axl for fucking with us this long, so I didn't want to buy the album in the first week. Not much, I know, but some kind of revenge... Now I doubt I'll even buy his record, cause except TWAT, I got bored of it and the material hasn't impressed me enough to pay 25-30 bucks for it.

It seems like I am the only one who doesn't like this song BH's great (as usual), but te rest is... well, for me it's not even a filler. Slightly better than Riyadh though, which is the weakest nu rocker IMO.

You people surely hasn't heard Slash's albums and collabos. Neither Can I, Beggars, Jizz Da Pit, Lower, Back and forth Again, Be The Ball, Mean Bone, Serial Killer, the muddy Contraband tracks, Loving The Alien, American Man, Don't Drop That Dime, Messages etc. shows more diversity than any other Gunners post-UYI work. (An I haven't mentioned the guest appearances.) Slash's work is not chaotic though, so some people think it's not 'experimental enough'. Making a music mess isn't experimenting, but trying to find something when you have no idea at all. 'Dive in and find the monkey'.

Slash is doing his solo album, Duff's doing Loaded... I guess they don't have any problem if nothing happens with VR before 2009.
#2609 Re: Guns N' Roses » Song #2 (Prostitute) is the biggest gun of all IMO » 881 weeks ago
After listening it 20 times, I can safely say it's the worst of the leaks. Ever. 80s crap. If it's really Prostitute, then there are no secret big guns, Just my opinion.

If it's true, then my dreams came true. I always wanted him the most... I cannot believe it's true, it'd be so great!
