Closing in on You?? I'm pretty sure that was fake, although a pretty good one. Not trying to contradict MSL here, but dave shared that with me years ago and while I do respect dave and he always swore on a stack of bibles that was real, the authenticity of that could be called into question, although its been like three years since that happened and my memory is hazy.

dave, care to elaborate on that again? How about you MSL? Is there a different clip in circulation?  Where did the original clip surface?

I think the Closing In On You clip was legit. Axl really sounded Axl with heavy distortion.

Wow.  I've found the exact opposite results with the people i've played it to.  It usually comes down to Better and CD being their favorites.

I got the same result, although I think TWAT is the best of the leaks. Not even a competition.

Rust you're right, that's what Axl said. I wanna repeat what someone else wrote: when Axl said in 2006 that his favourite songs are The Blues, Better and TWAT, then you shouldn't expect these to be "fillers". They were working on 32 songs (26 were nearly done 16) then. These are the best of the bunch, and I agree with Axl (based on what we've heard so far): add Chinese Democracy and get rid of the cheese in Blues, and we'll have the 4 best songs.

CD will not be a bad album, I hope it'll be good (although I repeat it: less cheese, please!), but for sure the material they've been working on is far from earth-shattering. Well, I'm happier with mind-blowing albums then forgettable good enough albums, but when you're working on something for more than a decade, it's better be mind-blowing. You (with Axl's talent) can easily release a good enough album in every 3 years. But with all the money spent on this record, even a deaf and dumb guy could make a good enough album in 10+ years.

TWAT is the best Nu-GN'R song, so it has to win. Better became boring too soon.

Yeah, DJ Axl in GTA, Axl singing a Rod Stewart cover, praising C. Aguilera or Nu-GN'R in Rockband 2 is cool as fuck, but Slash doing GH or Slash playing with Fergie is uncool. 2

Why would this be a shock? NIN doesn't have full time members except for Trent. So basically,
yeah for anyone but Reznor NIN would be a side project.

As I see it, GN'R's only full time member is Axl Rose. 16

Whoops, sorry for that ridiculous rant above. I feel pretty bad for going off like that. What an idiot. Sorry guys. :wtf:

That was a good rant, and I agree with the most of you wrote. I think out of the new songs, TWAT is the only real stand-out track. It's on the same level with the huge GN'R songs (for me). The others... well, I'm really disappointed. Some could have been a good song or a filler on a GN'R album (I mean the quality, not the style, since they're mostly different), but If The World and the others are like Just Another Sunday II, with more work on it. It doesn't make them listenable though. Throwaway songs that were kept and been worked, but should have never been heard.

But haven't HnB toured before without Dizzy?  Didn't he announce a tour (Dizzy) and had to pull out of a few shows before due to GNR?

Yes, HNB shows can be scrapped easily, but it clearly shows that Axl doesn't have touring plans until November.
