#261 Re: The Sunset Strip » Jason Lives: FRIDAY THE 13TH » 852 weeks ago
It's getting harder and harder. Last round, poll politics forced my hand against an entry I otherwise always enjoyed. No more foreplay. Favorites are going to start getting the boot. Also, it's fitting that the last Kane Hodder entry left standing is John Carl Buechler's defining vision of Zombie Jason.
Eliminated:
Round I - Jason X (7/12 votes)
Round II - Freddy vs. Jason (5/11 votes)
Round III 3D - Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (6/11 votes)
Round IV - Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (7/12 votes)
Vote off your LEAST favorite. Polls close in three days.

Perla Hudson, wife of former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash (real name: Saul Hudson), has responded to a newly published interview with GN'R singer Axl Rose in which he describes the top-hatted axeman as "a cancer."
Addressing the possibility of a reunion of GUNS N' ROSES' classic lineup, Rose said in a friendly chat with his pal, songwriter Del James, that was posted on AOL Music's Spinner.com web site, that it was "highly doubtful for us to have more than one of the alumni up with us at any given time."
"I suppose (former bass player) Duff (McKagan) could play guitar on something somewhere but there's zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash," Rose said.
"In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided — and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters the better."
As a post script to a message posted earlier today (Saturday, February 28) on her official MySpace blog, Perla wrote, "Have any of you seen that angry shit that Axl had to say about Slash? I just wish he was man enough to talk shit to Slash's face! ...LOSER!"

Apparently Del's a "songwriter" now. By the way, rock on Perla.
Take that one ta heart!

Someone voted for Part III?!
#265 Re: The Sunset Strip » Guilty Pleasures » 852 weeks ago
This thread could also be titled "The music I really like but am too insecure in my own sexuality to admit publicly because most of the acts I'm mentioning are associated with stereotypical 'gay culture' or are just effeminate and glam in general." I have no guilty pleasures music-wise. I listen to anything worth listening to, even if the vast majority of it is coincidentally hard rock/metal.
Anyone who lists Queen as "guilty pleasure" needs to be educated. No offense.

It's not gay, but if you have to question your own sexuality due to actions in the bedroom, as Axlin08 said, there are much deeper issues at play. Stimulation of the anus is common during heterosexual intercouse and can lead to a "prostate orgasm." Also, as Axlin08 said, role reversal is fetishistic or kink, not necessarily gay.

New strides in the slasher subgenre are being made constantly, just not within the US film industry. Look at Alex Aja's Haute tension as the most obvious reference point. And while I'm not a Scream fan, Craven did co-pen one of the most effective Nightmare sequels (Dream Warriors) as well as the pre-Scream brilliance of New Nightmare.

All signs so far point to "no." Scout's a really cool girl by the way. I've had the pleasure of corresponding with her while writing a feature and she's just the most charming little thing. I like her Laurie.

Jason split a guy from nuts-to-skull in Part III.
Best kill in the franchise for me.

Eh this article does nothing for me. Its just propoganda, it would be like Himmler interviewing Hitler.
I agree. And this whole "Not until one of us is dead" bullshit is just that...bullshit. It's been done to death by the Eagles, Van Halen, and countless others. Axl needs to stop being a bitter old man and at least confront his own demons if he's not going to confront his fans. And personally, I'm getting really sick of the Slash hatred in every "interview" he gives. I've supported the CD line up since the whole saga began. I cheered right in the front for Robin and Bucket and Bumble. But you wanna know who's a Slash fan and should apparently just fuck off? I'm a Slash fan. And I'm about ready to do just that.
