I just can't stand the constant ripping of band members for NO reason at all...it gets really old. They talk and they get ripped, they don't talk and they get ripped..    Fuck it...:headbang::headbang:

they should know better than doing interviews like this....he knew he was going to get asked a GNR related question at least once....c'mon....the site is called GNR daily....what did he think the interview was going to be about?

if he has no intention of talking GNR then he should just turn these interviews down.....simple....other members do it just fine....

good point...although i still think that he would give his left nut to be a frontman of a major global rock band again...even if it cost him his friendship with Rose...

if he was that caring about Axl, his answer would have been something to the effect of "No Fucking Way!" and not "Not that I know of".....which to me implies that if they offered him the job, he would fucking fly over there in an instant for another audition....also implies that someone could be making it happen behind the scenes, but he has no knowledge of it...and isn't sure whether he would oppose it or not if it was to happen...

Baz has been a good guy to gnr marketing in the last two years...but he's a yes man, like the post above said....another great asset to the Axl Rose franchise...well fucking done....

what's the point of this?

first off i dont think that Ron would attempt to duplicate note for note what BH did...nor do i think if the tables were turned that BH would do Rons stuff note for note...these guys are prodigy's they cant just do it the way its already been done, they need to leave their mark...

if i remember correctly, when a band member left, his parts were "replaced"....not re-recorded....there's a huge difference between the two...massive in fact...

bringing in Brian May to replace what Robin Finck did definitelly doesn't indicate that Brian re-recorded it note for note....in fact, with so many lawsuits flying around his head, Axl knows better not to rip off the work he paid for in the first place...legally, it has the potential to land him in some hot water...

i dont think anyone, in the history of this "new" line up went and simply "replayed" existing parts which were done by someone else...the reason that person was asked to do a certain bit in a song was either because the initial bit sucked...or Axl didn't want any trace of the previous member....which also includes the melody....

bucket is definately one of a kind....but i think Ron brings something to the table that even BH doesnt have..Ron seems to be able to put a whole song together where bh is more just tearing it up as one long constant solo....but ron's material he does both lead and rhythm parts, its almost like BH feels rhythm work is beneath him? hmm at least on the solo BH material that i've heard

mate, then you haven't heard all of his stuff...if anything impresses the shit out of me on BH's solo albums is his ability to put together a "song", a melody which only needs vocals to be complete....he is multi layered like no one else out there....and I'm sure that Ron would agree...

not to say that Ron is not a good replacement...he most definitelly is....he plays every part in every GNR song like he wrote it....and he does justice to BH's material...well, the bit we know is BH's material in the new gnr setlist....

he's a great guy....

considering its pretty quiet on the forums, I figured i might as well do the James/MIA thing, and bring your attention to some rock acts from my neighborhood...i have a feeling most of you would relate to the sound here, and because of the stupid ass position of this place, it is hard for these guys to break it onto the international scene....

first of the lot, is one of my favorites....WONDERboom....a "classic" rock act, they're best described as a South African version of the red Hot Chilli Peppers in terms of sound....very funk rock at times, but pretty serious at others....the lead guitar, mr. Martin Schofield is SA's version of a slash/bucket/robin for local rock fans because of his very good technical skill and ability to write great melodies at the same time...

it also helps that they're close mates of mine, so i always get free tickets to shows and gigs, and merchandise...which always helps...

you can check out their website at http://www.wonderboom.co.za and have a listen to some tracks...they also have a forum for those of you who really like them...and if anyone wants, i can organise some tracks to be sent to them also...

some media quotes as well:

Wonderboom is a band that needs no introduction. Their crazy colour painted all the stages of South Africa with their funky tattooed muscle flexing energy.
They've become a stalwart of SA music. You cannot say Wonderboom without sinful and sordid images of flesh bound men frolicking bare chested in front of millions of screaming fans, wearing the snake that some so commonly misrepresent as evil?

Wonderboom are a Johannesburg-based gang of funk rockers who know how to have a seriously good time. Fronted by sex-god, stage demon, Cito, they have based their eclectic appeal on a frenetic live show, oodles of cheek and some straight up and down funky grooves. Wonderboom's music is a wild combination of solid rock-based-on-funk grooves with the added curve ball of some township swing and pizzazz. Cito Otto, the band's energetic frontman, isn't scared to pull out all the stops for the sake of a good show.

The rest of the band consists of Martin on guitar and back-up vocals, Wade on bass, and Danny on drums. The back-up of these three solid players give Cito the latitude to be the wild man up front.
