I put my vote for: Alice In Chains.

#262 Re: Guns N' Roses » ROGER DALTREY On AXL ROSE Singing For AC/DC: 'Give Me A Break' » 475 weeks ago

I find the axl bashing by Daltrey to be trolling / laughable.

Like honestly, why shit on a guy who clearly likes your music (even though you wrote jack shit Daltrey)?

Like I've said before it is pretty easy to bash Axl and I am not a fan of it.

I mean honestly, when has Mr. Rose really bashed anyone post 1993? [Excluding former members of GN'R] hardly.

I've never heard him say oh yeah Mick Jagger what a tosser. He can't sing anymore.

Hell he wore a Nirvana shirt and that band had a brief feud with Guns.

Axl bashing just gets sad sometimes.

Roger Daltrey is just sad. I'm glad my former Journalist teacher stole his train as a kid in England ha.

I don't get all the hate for Gilby and Matt. It's like we're actively looking for someone to hate now that Slash and Axl are friendly again. I guess we just need something to bitch about.

I choose the people bitching about things that don't matter.

I am done with my Matt hate.

Gilby hate is for his low blow.

And the fact he was just a tour guy in Guns, nothing more nothing less.

If he wants to make a slight dig at this lineup I'll defend it.

Obviously, it ain't an issue for Slash and Duff or they would have backed out.

Glad to see you back posting more. I remember the days when it would be buzzsaw this and buzzsaw that.

Was it you who had the feud with Bono?

Is he going to comeback finally and stop with the MYGNR shit.

Hahaha splendid indeed! I'd give you a shit ton of karma if I could.

Lindsey Buckingham though, man I surprised that cat when I asked him about Dennis. Such a highlight of a 1st meet. Plus I got Rumors (is it American or British spelling? The album uses) and his solo record Seeds We Sow signed.

He can spin it til the cows come home and minimize it all he wants but Angus made the right decision. If it wasn't a problem, nobody in AC/DC would have even known about it. You cant fake having good hearing unless you can read lips and I doubt lip reading would have helped on a tour.

Brian Wilson is an example of someone that is an exception to the rule.

But, I agree with your post.

Stupidity on Brian's part, nice guy, but come on mate. Protect the money maker.

Someone wrote on here about AC / DC being better than Guns, I think Brett was their name.

Sorry bro, I like AC / DC  casually. But, AC / DC can't hold a candle to Guns. The general public and even people with heads not in their asses know that all AC / DC songs sound alike. Just say different words: TNT, Thunder et cetera.

Not trying to take a piss on AC / DC but, you can't say in musical sense or creativity that it beats Guns N' Roses. It just doesn't.

Again, I like AC / DC. Think Axl is great in it. I liked them when they blew the Rolling Stones out of the water and did a great one for my city of Toronto. But, they aren't in the same league as Guns.

Brian's situation is unfortunate.

Oh Gilby.

Please just shut the fuck up.

I mean even my nemesis Matt Sorum knows how to shut up. He did more for Guns than you could possibly do.

Gilby Clarke is nothing to Guns N' Roses. He is a pure and simple tour replacement.

He never wrote anything with the band of any value.

In fact, Axl replaced him with a guy who could write shit that didn't gel with Slash.

Gilby Clarke also has really no music of value in the broad sense.

No one is ever like "Hey, Radio guy put some Gilby Clarke on man."

To sum up Gilby, he's a guy who is mainly a bar / pub player that got a lucky break with Guns N' Roses and whored it out for all its worth.

Post Slash: Buckethead, Robin Finck, Tommy Stinson have never whored out the Guns N' Roses name to gain them a wider following. AND THOSE GUYS WROTE SHIT IN THE BAND unlike Gilby "I have shitty facial hair" Clarke.

To conclude, eat a dick Gilby.

#266 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose joins AC/DC » 476 weeks ago

Let's relax people...

Yes Axl is in AC/DC right now, on a permanent basis? Who knows. They take forever to release albums.

What I do know is he is digging rehearsals. He can sing the fuck out of those songs, and he generally appears really happy.

So this works to Guns N' Roses advantage.

I had a laugh and a aw shucks with Axl's small little oi at 7 seconds in this video [url][embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=difwoEkp3Do[/url][/embed]

Let's just sit back and enjoy the show.

I don't think he would reunite with Slash and Duff if the ship was just going to sink and they were going to put their guns to rest.

Guns gives Axl: weird, alternative queen-esque, grunge, industrial, ballad, punk, hard style rock. So many options and styles to utilize.

AC/DC if he joins just gives Axl dick rock. Meaning there really isn't much to maneuver. It will be hard rocking rock. Nothing more or less. Not that anything is wrong with that (just don't ask my girlfriend she hates AC/DC).

The only thing I want to know is if Axl digs my boy Dennis Wilson or Lindsey Buckingham or the Beach Boys (Brian Wilson not the post 1983 shit with Kokomo).

I hear a lot of crying from AC / DC fans. But, you know Bon Scott died and people never said well Brian Johnson's AC / DC ain't real man. That hasn't been an issue. The fact is Brian Johnson's hearing = fucked. Yes the way Angus handled it could have been better. But, it is his band. Since Malcolm's health went to the shit zoo.

To conclude, let's just enjoy the show. And hopefully we get new Guns music. I think we will. No way this is going to be mucked up.

P.S. I can't get my link to work here ugh, tried editing multiple times. If any mods want to show me the way I'd love you long time.

#267 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose joins AC/DC » 476 weeks ago

Wow indeed my board mates. Wow!

I saw AC / DC up here in Toronto at SARS Stock where they stole the fucking show from the Stones who were terrible.

With that said, I am so impressed with the service that Mister Axl Rose has done. I truly hope he gets the gig if he wants it and AC / DC are willing to give it to him full time.

He definitely has made done his Scottish roots proud. Honouring the band (who mainly are Scottish) and is incredibly on Bon Scott's songs.

Truly, awesome.

I thinks if AC / DC replace Johnson on a full time basis (including studio) the only answer is Axl Rose. No one else can compete with him. Also, he gives you a helluva good songwriting ability. Taking nothing away from Johnson.

I'll be going to the Buffalo, show if they have one and tickets. I think they have one.

#268 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Reload With a Dependable (and nice?) Frontman » 477 weeks ago

This title kind of bugs me. I get where they are coming at... But it still bugs me. Trust me I've been critical of Mr. Axl Rose before, and I'm not just some fan boy.

But, to me Axl Rose has always been someone that is nice. He's like a Tom Sawyer, the good bad boy you like and maybe once were.

He hasn't really in my opinion come off as an asshole. [Let's not bring up the D/A allegations] The no-show at the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, doesn't make the dude a prick in the least. RNRHOF is a joke.

He just is authentic.

Never have you heard Axl make any comments negatively about: any races, gays, lesbians, bi , animal rights folk, unions, corporate america, vegetarians, and we can go on and on.

BUT WAIT WHAT ABOUT "ONE IN A MILLION" MAN!!!!!! Yes controversial, but it is a FUCKING SONG. Not someone's views necessarily, and people's views change with time. It's like Tom Sawyer, just cause it says the N word doesn't make it racist or that Mark Twain espoused racist ideology.

To me Axl Rose has been an interesting rock star. Doesn't get a shit load of attention post 1993. Keeps relatively to himself. Is authentic to his belief system. Not afraid to move with the times.

And isn't a hack.

I've never thought wow Axl is preaching about the American worker / environment, and then makes a Pono music player made in China and tries to call himself an environmentalist and someone that cares about the common man. Special fuck you to Neil Young, you prick. Side note: I hear Bruce Springsteen's tour shirts are made in the USA. Thank God.

Some will argue the late start times and those couple of riots. Live and learn. The camera guy kind of deserved it in St. Louis. He was on his way to Vancouver (did they riot?, can't remember, Philly wasn't happy from what I remember. We are talking about 2002 here).

The late times to me have always been about getting into the zone, stage fright and what have you.

Perhaps, the start times will be on time. However, after CD was released Guns did tour solidly until whenever the date was [I hate Ashba remember, dark times]. No riots occurred at all to my knowledge.

I'm glad that Mister Rose is authentic, and just not some hypocrite, attention seeking rock star.

He definitely puts the artist in rock star.

I'd say he is private like one of those old school Hollywood types like: Orson Welles, or Greta Garbo.

You never feel like wow that asshole has over stayed their welcome. Please for the love of God, go away.

It is just too cliche and too easy to write him off as tyrannical asshole who listens to no one and broke up a band and carried it on by flipping the bird to the "true" Guns fans.

The dude is complicated, authentic, and a remarkable talent.

Mister F. Scott Fitzgerald was wrong, and I'm glad Mister Axl Rose is getting his well deserved second act. They are hard to come by.

Hardcore Buckethead / Finck lineup fans unite!

TRUTH!

Dude this is how I felt once Robin left and he was replaced by this subpar hack.

People want to shit on Robin, but, that guy has talent and guess what? He is all over CD.

I could not take the band serious, or their direction after hiring DJ.

The stage presence was terrible.

I was always a big fan of Axl's vision of the band. By hiring DJ, he was shitting on that.

Robin Finck and Buckethead were such crucial parts to post Guns.

Losing Buckethead hurt, Finck was the last straw.

Now I am back because wow. Who could have thought?

Slash and Duff would be back.

I mean in my ideal world Robin would be rhythm but whatever.

I like Fortus he has been a good soldier.

They should have just had him go to lead when Robin left, and not add a complete misfit and someone that was contrary to Axl's vision of a more industrial sounding rock.
