#261 Re: The Sunset Strip » Roger Waters Discussion (NEW ATD vinyl coming!) » 681 weeks ago

So after reading Russ' original review, I checked on Roger's site. Tour dates go through to 07/21 quebec.

Anyone know if the UK has been done yet, or will get another round?  Kinda kicking myself I hadnt been in here and found out about this sooner, its a show I would love to see, and to take my wife to would be awesome, she loves theatrical performances of any kind.

I never knew what a Heel was in that sense till I read AxlIn's post.

The inlay work GLW do is really impressive.

Wow! Russ, how'd you manage to get to meet Roger? I would have thought he'd be in a bunker or something pre-show!

I'm looking forward to reading your write up.

The Wall, for me, was an album I listened to loads while stoned or on acid when I was 17 & 18 and it's some of the most beautiful, scary, hauntingly powerful music ever.

I couldn't listen to it for years after because it was like a fearful flashback, just depressing to go through and difficult to dip into. However that was years ago now, and listening to it again a couple of years back, with a clear head and spirit was pretty amazing.

Anyway, enough of my story, Russ, I wanna hear yours !

When I hear "$200k worth of gold and diamond studded necklaces and chains" I instantly think of BA from the A-Team. smile

Bummer though for sure.

#267 Re: Guns N' Roses » State of GNRevolution (PLEASE READ, discuss) » 681 weeks ago

I came by when it was roses of velvet, and have read pretty much every thread since then.

I first dropped by, way back when, because this was the best place for honest news, views and opinions on GnR, without censorship, and without nonsense trolling users (mygnr, cd.com etc).

I am a mega lurker, I find it difficult to get enough time (have wife and toddler) to read through the threads as they are, let alone contribute much or debate with you guys. Maybe in that sense my opinion is worth less, and that's understandable.

Even though GnR are doing stuff, there is little passion, mystery, anticipation anymore for me.  Yet I still come here and read daily.  So to me there is value in the GnR section, still. I'm fascinated by what Axl does (for better or worse), and will continue to take an interest and want to know what's going on.

I drop by the snakepit and twat sections from time to time and thats about it.

I think buzz is right, things will work out and evolve in its own way. You never know, new music may light fire under everyone's ass again one day.

I find this all very interesting though, the circle, the paranoia, the "helpers" and "hangers on" during the UYI tour period and after. Interesting, sad at the same time, and pretty damn messed up.

I think I read Matt saying some stuff about her and how she was ripping Axl off with her bullshit, or something like that...

Thats the problem though with these types of situations, people thought she was ripping Axl off, which imo I bet she was, yet if you'd confronted her or Axl about it she'd probably claim you're the negative problem that is bringing Axl down, and it goes round in circles....
