I was one of the people who gave him a lot of crap back then but he actually deserved praise. He's doing everything he can to keep it together and he's doing it in a terrible environment. His own band mates don't even want him there....he's getting shit from hardcores...and he's having to win over some harsh casual crowds.
That bit where he came out solo and won over the hostile Download crowd with his Don't Cry solo was incredible.

It's kinda funny how they teased the song with the intro, and that's the jankiest part of the song, with Slash and Izzy completely uncoordinated.
Also, what's Axl singing during the "When you're breaking down my back…" bit? It sounds like the lyrics are switched around a bit.

I have a soft-spot for Jungle.
I know it became cliche by the end.
But in it's prime, when you've been waiting for how long, and there's always that mystery of if the show is going to go wrong, then like early 2000s Axl comes out with that epic screamed "Do you know where the fuck you are" and the way he does that predator kinda pacing during the song breakdown in the middle...when it works it works! lol.
Yup. RIR 2001/Rock Am Ring 2006 were incredible.

One thing I will never understand re TSI is the usage of You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory. It’s a good song and Duff has a good performance of it - but the placing of a Duff solo song is so lazy. It doesn’t even feature Slash on guitars! It’s just Duff and some guys from his solo record, even the electric guitar is just some dude.
It’s literally a solo album track pasted on there. They could’ve at least had Slash and Gilby overdub the guitars to make it seem less blatantly like a solo song pasted in.
To be fair, Axl stuck a track with his gardener playing guitar on there.

^ yeah...from memory Brain and Frank were friends too right? Like didn't Brain actually recommend Frank when he wanted some time off? I mean I hope it means we get an album or something, but it could just be buds hanging out.
IIRC Frank's intro to the band came through Fortus, they're long-time collaborators. I will never tire of posting this video with their lamentable 1990s fashion choices.

The drum tracks isolated could be interesting. Don't some believe Frank was mixed into the track?

It's also a bit weird that Brain would be present at soundcheck (and standing next to Frank), if he was there only for Melissa, and they're not even supposed to be dating anymore, but only working together - unless he's been there because he and Melissa have been working on something of their own.
Another - a bit far-fetched - scenario is that Frank is about to step down, maybe because of his recent marriage, so Brain is preparing to take over.
I mean, the Occam's Razor explanation is simply that Brain was paying his old bandmates a social visit, and he's standing next to Frank because… they're both drummers and they have plenty in common to chat about.
NGL, though, the (faint) prospect of Brain rejoining has me salivating; that'd pretty much be the dream line-up. Plus it would make sense, since Brain would be able to work with Melissa on their soundtracks and stuff while they were on tour.
Hey, and maybe they could tweak Hard Skool for the album release and put Brain's drums back on it.

Same. With the best will in the world I'm not gonna drop hundreds of dollars for material I can stream on Apple Music, when the only thing that I'm interested in is the Blu-ray.
