A terrorist attack, in the name of Islam, who killed over 3,000 Americans, has a mosque, three blocks from where it happened.

You don't feel in anyway that this is a spiteful play? At all?

Many of those Americans who died that day were also Muslim. The guy who owns the property has also been there for years.

The argument is too black and white anyway: Should we also conclude that all Catholics advocate and condone the molestation of children since so many priests have been found guilty of such crimes? Should we follow that logic and insist that no new churches be built within a mile of any elementary school?

Welcome to America, where you are free to buy property and worship as you wish. If you don't like the Mosque you are also welcome to buy the place next door and open a BBQ joint. It's that simple really.

I always hoped to see a Loder interview in a post CD release era.

Me too. In my naivete I thought we'd have a video, massive promotion and the epic "Return" of a newly formed band, then straight to the couch to talk to Loder.

Silly me.

A small percentage of who is left on the forums is my guess.

People often forget how awesome UYI really is. I think I'd rate the albums almost identically to how they were released actually.

I'm sure you're aware, but you can get GNR shirts at Hot Topic and Amazon. There is no excuse for that store to be closed. They are missing out on mucho $$$$ - enough to fund an album!

Par for the course isn't it?

I guess the difference for me is, I have loved AFD,Lies,UYI's for over 20 years whereas with CD, i loved it for about 6 months and now every once in awhile wil listen to may 3 or 4 songs.... in 20 more years ill still be listening to AFD and UYI..

Yea, I don't know if it's just general burnout with CD, but as of today the older albums hold up better.

A little off topic....My Mom worked in foreign embassies all over the world as a young woman (she's 76 now.) In particular she was stationed in Pakistan for a while, and had an affinity for that country (She collects camels-dolls, stickers, pictures, you name it- like some crazy cat lady, but that's another story.) Back in the 80's when we were bombarded with the notion that nuclear war may happen at any minute, my Mom used to say "The Russians will never be a threat, it's the lunatics in the Middle East getting their hands on a nuclear weapon that we really have to worry about." Of course as a kid I always thought Mom was wrong, and as an adult I see how ahead of her time she really was.
