They only bought his plane ticket. If they're paying fucking Melissa Reese to be an anime Teddy Zig Zag, then surely they can pay an original member for coming down and doing a job for them. If they're bitter about shit then don't call him up in the first place. Since when did they all become Hetty Green?

It's amazing that Steven is still alive. I remember reading his book, thinking even Keith Richards would take a bow to his excess. One of the funniest stories I've read from a rock band is when he tried to land a record deal, claiming he was completely clean and sober, and just as the suits are meeting him, one of his dealers drives up to give him heroin.
That being said, the way Axl, Slash and Duff treated him was completely shameless. It's fine that they're only giving him a couple of shows, but at least pay the man! They're out there raking in millions every night and still they can't find the heart to throw their old band mate a bone. That kind of cynicism is staggering to me.

Seems both Bill and Charlie have punched Mick in the face. Apparently he took it well each time. This band have managed to make dysfunction into a solid harmony. Imagine where Guns would be if they just had ONE guy like that in the band.
If Axl got dropped like that by one of his band mates I think he would get a lesson that would be very good for him. That's what Slash should have done in 1995.

When Bill Wyman left the band in 1993, Keith Richards told him "the only way anybody leaves this band is in a wooden box", then he pulled a knife on him.

At least they're not selling out. To do that you would have to sell something. It's not really a nostalgia act. Nostalgia acts release albums. This is a hustle band. You throw the mark a bone to keep him interested.

Steel Wheels is a good shout. Not quite Sticky Fingers or Exile though. Thanks for posting Mixed Emotions, that's a really great song.
Back then pushing 50 was considered old, but it wasn't so much that they were old, it was them still being around with mostly original members. Beatles had been gone 20 years. The Who, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin etc. either gone or shadows of their former selves. Even Pink Floyd had started collapsing. But the Stones were still out there releasing hits like it was 1965.
These guys have released 25 albums, and if we don't count their first album in the US which "only" charted in 11th place, they have never released an album doing worse than 5th.

On the positive side Fortus wouldn't be mentioning new music for no reason. He does put it at the end of a sentence there, not overselling it, so he's probably not thinking about anything concrete. But at least they're talking about it.
I can understand being cautious. If this is to be the last, career defining album, then it can't be shit.

They haven't made a truly great album for 50 years. Diminishing returns since then. A couple of great tracks here and there, but I'm never expecting much from an old band. Incredible that they're still going. I saw them 25 years ago and it was a meme already then.
Video here is great but I don't think the song is much to talk about. Doom and Gloom was a legitimate hit, this kinda goes nowhere. Hopefully they got something better further up the pipeline.

Adler is free flowing without a filter. Wherever his impulse takes him he goes.
He brought that to his drumming and that's why you can't replace him. As much as I like Matt Sorum you could probably find a hundred guys who can do the same thing as him. Adler is unique.

The beef is why he dissed them on camera, but he didn't make up them being a political band. Those lyrics clearly are.
