Idiocy.

Perfect example of picking up on a sound bite instead of judging the man by his true intentions and policies. Like anyone fucking believes Bernie doesn't know there's poor white people.

*edit* I actually meant to quote misterID, not necessarily singling out James' response here...

The generally accepted modern day definitions are one in the same pretty much.  I understand your text book stuff but these days in America Republicans are Conservative and Democrats are Liberal... And within those liberal "basic ideas" the democrats typically want the governement to be bigger, have more control, and then issue more rights. These democratic liberals are only similar to libertarians these days in the fact they are okay with some legalized drugs. That is about where it stops. The words are often misused, I think anyway

Isn't that the problem though? That America has collectively decided that there are two sides, and those two sides supposedly adhere to "basic ideas", that a presidential election is nothing more than a contest about personalities and sound bites... People don't even bother to dig into the details of what each candidate stands for anymore, they just assume a bunch of shit based on which party a candidate is affiliated with and then vote on who has the most soundbites repeated by the media.

To me, there's no denying Izzy's input to GN'R when he was there - awesome riffage like Brownstone and Nightrain wouldn't exist without him.

But my question is, where is that type of stuff amongst is solo work?
His solo work sounds like kinda bland 3 chord rock, and I say that in the nicest way too, because I don't really hear any genius songwriting, or genius riffing that you guys are referring to. Even that Baby Ran song... what a snoozefest... 10

Again, just my opinion, from what I hear.

This, a thousand times this! The whole exercise is conjecture, and it could be that you'd be stuck with a much less impressive list of songs, but you might just as well have a whole list of songs that were 10 times better than some of the Izzy stuff, or a bunch of songs on the same level. There's no way of knowing and the only thing you can say for sure is that it would've been different.

Looking at their post-GNR catalogue thought, I fully agree with Metallex, Izzy's solo stuff is just bland middle-of-the-road rock that fails to excite me in even the slightest way. Izzy's contributions to GNR were massive, and absolutely instrument to their overall sound, but looking at their respective solo careers, it seems to me that Izzy needed the GNR band environment to be inspired and pushed much more than any of the other guys. His talents are undeniable, but he doesn't seem to push himself very hard.

Confused as to how Bernie is supposed to be the liberal one. He might as well have been a Republican. These stories he tells seem forced, true or not.

I'm glad that Bernie won 3 out of 4 states this week-end, that means he's still hanging on, but he needs to prepare better for these debates. He still thinks that if he speaks from the heart and brings his message in a constructive way he'll win over more and more people, but he needs to become much more concrete as to why he believes that Hillary is not the right candidate.

For instance, he should point out that the debacle in Flint, MI is the direct result of big money influencing government. The MI governor gave billions of dollars to his campaign contributors in the form of tax deductions yet decided to change water suppliers to save a measly 2 million bucks without doing a proper study on the effects. That's where his priorities were, paying his dues to contributors, not ensuring kids don't get poisoned by the fucking tap water. THAT is what money in politics gets you, THAT is why you CANNOT support any politician that participates in that incestuous system, THAT is why you need to vote for Bernie.

Concrete examples like that will make his message so much more effective when it comes to the uneducated masses. People aren't dumb, they just aren't involved. Government isn't a problem, the government is the people, and when you elect corrupt crony capitalist cunts you'll get a corrupt crony capitalist government. If you elect honest and effective people, you'll get an effective government.

Hilary is more liberal on social issues but Bernie is more liberal with your money.

Americans often confuse Liberal with Progressive, but Liberal actually means 'favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform', so his gun policy is literally more liberal than Hillary's because he doesn't want to take anyone's personal freedom to have a gun away. On social issues he's been consistently more liberal than Hillary as well (being pro-gay marriage before it was fashionable, and all...). They are probably tied in how liberal they are regarding health care (not very liberal at all: they both support some form of healthcare mandate, meaning they both don't think it's up to an individual to decide if they want insurance). Saying Hillary is more Liberal than Bernie is... weird.

Another way to think about it: a liberal differs from a libertarian mostly in that the latter doesn't believe in market regulation while the former might or might not. On social issues, their positions should be very similar. If you compare Rand Paul with Bernie Sanders on those issues, that should be pretty obvious.

Being a true liberal is a good thing, it promotes personal responsibility and diversity much more than conservatism, which aims to drive society in a conformist direction by limiting individual freedom and agency.

Absolutely! Seriously, is there anyone who's seen this debate and still thinks Trump has any real ideas, or even remotely knows what he's talking about? Previous debates he won by shouting and insulting the other candidates, but when they stop holding back and play the game by his rules he holds up about as good as a wet paper towel. Will we be seeing Trump-bot meme's now?

A local collector here in Belgium is selling a bunch of guitars hand-signed by the artist.
For those of us with too much disposable income, one of the items is a Les Paul signed by Slash in '95, asking price €15.000 (around $16.700): http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/-/151982634792

The signed Eric Clapton 'Blackie' strat is even more expensive (who pays €25k for a friggin' strat??).
