That tackle seemed a bit over the top, but I guess you never can tell. Tragedy has happened at rockshows.
Liked Axl's comment after the song: "Hope our little friend is OK"

Saw Mark Canter posted this at mygnr, referring to the Lebeis':
They have been running things for a long time. They will also save 15% that they would have to had paid someone else to do the things that they have already been telling a manger to do. I know that sounded a bit twisted but what I'm trying to say is that they are the ones who have been running things anyways, so why pay the extra cash. It will free up money to get more things done.
Nothing new obviously as we all knew those guys were really pulling the strings and management had to go thru them. But interesting to hear someone close to Axl confirm it.
It makes sense, if you are paying someone for management and advice that you aren't taking, you are wasting your money.
The logical next question following that statement is if they are the ones that have been running things anyway, why should we expect anything different going forward when they are "officially" in control?
Hope I'm wrong because I want new music from Axl and bloody anyone he cares to get in the studio at this stage. Plus I would love to see this band function even remotely like a normal band. So I will cross my fingers and hope for the best, but sadly my expectations are low. I hope I end up with egg on my face and they prove me wrong.
I think the Leibeis family running the GNR operations is just as wierd as a lot of you guys have stated in the past pages.
But when I really think about what I actually KNOW for sure about ANY of them and what they have done in the past or what they haven't done, I find out that I really don't have ANYTHING concrete to base my sceptisism on.
And like Canter said, they have been running things for a very long time. But all though there are episodes in the past that the fans have been dissapointed about, when it comes to touring since '09, things have been running fairly smooth as far as I can tell. And during these last tours in South America and the US, prolly as smooth as it ever has! Not to mention a welcomed increase in fan-interaction (fb, twitter, interviews with the band AND Axl(!), live streaming of concerts, possible new website).
Hopefully these last positive things will continue into 2012 and beyond!
But like someone mentioned a few pages ago, letting family or close ones run the business, can cause some unwanted tension. For my own selfish reasons, I hope that doesn't happen for Axl, so that he can continue to put on shows and hopefully release new music in the future.

I vaguely remember an interview with pitman just after CD came out and it did appear his overall contributions to GnR in the CD era are bigger than most realised. Obviously he's going to big himself up in an intertview but it did sound like he was more pivitol than hes generally given credit for by the fans.
Was that the radio interview he did with some english guy? I listened to that back then and remember going: "Wow, I never knew how much this guy was involved!"
There are two sides two this. And that is:
1) Pitman has obviously been a massiv part of GNR for over a decade.
You see it all over the credits in the CD-booklet. Anyone saying
differently, are talking out of their asshole! Simple as that!
or..
2) You've listened to CD and looked at the booklet and you don't like
what you think are his contributions to GNR! All well and
good, but it exposes either your lack of knowledge of music, that you
can't read properly OR your lack of knowledge of GNR history. Or all of
the above! Simple as that!
and goodnight!

Damn, just saw on twitter that they opened up the stream for free during the encore, but I was too late. Damn!
Nonetheless, cool of them to do that for the fans!
This show didn't fit well with me, due to timedifference, work etc etc.
I'm gonna have to try and catch the stream of the 30th show in Vegas!

Sorry to interupt this "he-said-he-said-YES-that-is-what-I-said-he-said"-competition some of you guys have going on here.
But check THIS out! http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8A112D34C7233528
Almost the entire gig!
Saw this over at HTGTH.
I'm only three or four songs in, audio and video is not the best ever, but this looks like a kick ass show so far!!!

Sorry if my repeated Pink Floyd comparisons might be bothersome, but to those saying "they can't perform together then go their separate ways" I say this: Pink Floyd did it.
All 4 played together at Live8 and both David and Roger went back to their respective tours the next day, literally.
It would be a pretty accurate comparison if neither Axl or any of the other guys had cuntinued on as Guns N' Roses after the "break-up" in the mid 90's
I'm not big on Pink Floyd, but as far as I know neither David or Roger tour under the name Pink Floyd.
#279 Re: Guns N' Roses » Trunk Interviews RRHOF President » 760 weeks ago
What choice?
There's only ONE choice. He HAS to perform with them.
I'm telling you. Anything less than that is gonna look HORRIBLE, and the media is gonna run WILD with it.
And the media is gonna run wild IF Axl performs with the entire AFD-lineup.
All the headlines in the music press are gonna be of a nature that doesen't benefit the version of GNR that has excisted since '97.
If I had to bet money on what would happen, I'd say Axl performs a small accustic set with Duff and Izzy.
Or Axl doesen't show at all and the whole thing is just embarressing for EVERYONE!
In either scenario, the negative media backlash will be over within a week. RRHOF inductions is not the center of the universe. I'd bet that if you asked the casual rockfan at ANY rockshow what happened at the Van Halen induction, the majority wouldn't know!

I agree that they should release a new album while the iron is hot.
But at this moment, I don't think they will release a NEW album written by the current lineup.
And personally, I don't want that right now. There's still stuff from the CD-sessions I'm very curious to hear! And I'm guessing that THAT is where Axl's focus is gonna be at when the tour is over.
And to the general public, it won't matter. To them it will be a NEW album either way.
