#2982 Re: Guns N' Roses » finally a decent straight forward comment regarding CD » 894 weeks ago
They say the album is finished. Jarmo states it again and again. He can't say such a thing unless someone pushed him/told him to say it. "The album is done". Just because the album is done doesn't mean it's anywhere close to coming out. It's a little trick they play to buy time with the fans and keep some form of hype going. A friend of mine just sent me a finished product of his bands material, this stuff won't be out until September. And this is a pretty straight forward band and label. Just what does that tell you regarding the finished product of Chinese Democracy?
I have no doubt it is finished. In fact it might have been finished for the past one and a half year. It can indeed have been finished ever since GNR did their Japan gigs. In reality it doesn't mean shit. Jarmo is speaking against what he constantly nags on about. "When it is ready you will hear it, when there is news they will give you news". Well he just broke his rule and keeps saying the album is finished and I'm sorry but no official sources except for Beta (who I clearly do not count as an official source but rather a person who maybe said a bit too much in an interview) have said ANYTHING at all about this album.
So while Jarmo cracks down on any hints or rumours regarding this release, he spreads his own with absolutely no source to show for. I'm not saying he doesn't have it though. I'm sure he was told by Del James or Dizzy or whatever that the album is finished.
But in our world it doesn't mean a thing. People still fall for it though. I've heard from reliable sources for years it's done or close to being done. I'm not buying anything of those rumours until the label sets a release date. They are the ones releasing it. Jarmo have told us for years the same thing. He just breaks his own "rules" because inside people told him. Doesn't mean shit.

Well in my world it doesnt count. I started following very closely in 98 and expected it to take some time. But not 10 years.

Um... was there an album in 2002? I kind of remember no album since 91 or maybe 93.
Of course not but 2002 should have been the year it was out. Since 2002 we have been waiting for an album that was supposed to be for immediate release.

No album since 2002. There are no excuses. Axl is the first to admit it. He knows.
I don't expect shit this year. They keep saying this and that but it's only to maintain somewhat of a hype..whatever that is atm. They don't even have a full band.
Buckethead, with all his weirdness, was the best guitar player GNR ever had. I had forgotten how good his solo on Madagascar was and let's not forget Knocking on heavens door..he turned that song into one of my fave GNR songs they did live...the solo is nothing but brilliant. I never liked that song until BH came and did it.
The TWAT solo is nothing but brilliant. Without it it's not the same song. Robin got some good solos..but they're just that..good. A Buckethead solo is brilliant. He MAKES TWAT what it is.

another thing i dont understand..why do you have to pick a side?
Taste.
If I didn't make myself clear I'm sorry.
I don't listen to the songs all the time. I haven't touched the Illusions album for years basically. I got tired of it. It goes around in circles basically. But I never touch the Slash stuff. Never.
#2987 Re: Guns N' Roses » This just on Blabbermouth » 895 weeks ago
To make this very short in this Axl vs Slash thing.
I bought Slash's Snakepit in 2000 and listened to it for a month.
I bought the first VR album and listened to it for 6 months
I never even bought Libertad
I've been listening to the GNR demos ever since they came out and I still do. I still listen to the new songs being played live going back to 2001 and I have no clue just how much I've played TWAT.
For me personally, whether or not how big of a Slash fan I am, I have to admit that I'm going with Axl. My Winamp playlist speaks for itself. Slash outside GNR never hit 100% home with me. Ever. Sad as it is.
#2988 Re: Guns N' Roses » Weiland identifies with Axl - RollingStone » 895 weeks ago
He may have a point here and there but he just comes off as a hypocrite.
That's what I dislike the most about the musicians. They just roll with the punches. Like Weiland here...he was scared stiff of any comparison to GNR and Axl while in VR and refused to even touch the subjects in interviews, being a real primadonna. The he gets fired/quits and suddenly he openly speaks of how he identifies with Axl. Because that's what works for him right now.
So, whatever comes out a musicians mouth most of the time can never be trusted for shit. It's lies on top of lies and they lie to make them look good, to make more money, to create hype. I'm not falling for any of it.

That was...not good.
Worse than what I remember.
Off key, out of breath and no rasp at all

Yeeeaaahhh...NOW he say's he identifies with Axl. If you asked him 2 years ago he would be strangling you before u could say the name "Axl Rose" for even bringing him up.
