In which article did Duff recently take a jab at Axl?

#22 Re: Guns N' Roses » Argument: Have Two Bands, Axl » 685 weeks ago

I just can't see anything like this in a million years for so many reasons.

I find it crazy that a guy like Canter, who has more first hand, intimate knowledge of Slash and Axl's thoughts on all this than anyone, could argue for a scenario where the old and new bands tour together: New Guns open for an hour, Old Guns play for an hour, everyone comes on and plays tambourine for Nightrain and Paradise.

So for the first hour a ton of people are gonna chant for Duff and Slash. Axl's gonna play songs including Sorry and Madagascar which are in part about Slash and Duff.

And Slash wont even agree to putting out a press release saying 'so it tuns out Axl didn't really hold us hostage over the name; it was the manager' so why the hell would he subject himself to an even greater insult?

Obviously that's what it's about. You're done playing games here this week. You'll be welcome back any time after Friday.

Note to the rest of the forum-
I don't feel any of you deserve to have these type of posts clog up the board from now until Friday when something may or may not happen in GN'R world.

That's why i'm spending more and more time on here. Really starting to love this place.

Thanks for posting Canter's messages.

One thing that makes no sense is the idea or possibility of a super-tour with New Guns opening, a set by the Illusions guys and then finishing with Steven the Appetite line-up. A million issues with that which could never be amicably resolved. Issues with fans coming to see what, who gets paid what, who plays what, who wants to wait around backstage/in the crowd whilst New Guns play Chinese when they wanna play/hear Old Guns. It's a ridiculous idea.

I forgot that Axl explained "Rhiad". But Madagascar is clearly 100% about the old band: "hopefully this will express my sentiments..." and Sorry I think Axl denied being at all about Slash because if he affirmed it it could create problems for him or be used against him in some lawsuit somehow.

The whole album, minus Chinese, is largely about his trials and struggles and tribulations and the iea that there wouldn't be a song, or several, directly dealing with Slash, the old band, the fallout etc is silly.

It wasn't exactly a place of great discussion but it was handy for news. It's not like you're gonna find the Canter interview on HTGTH.

#27 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Gotta Love Adler: RS Interview "I'm done with him" » 687 weeks ago

Yup. When he said 'I'm never going to talk about him ever again after this comment...' I started to set my watch but then he started talking about him again.

Quite apart from any convoluted arguments over the history of GN'R, I don't give a fuck about that interview because he's just a very boring, unimaginative, uninspiring and ordinary little man who happened to play great drums on a great album a quarter of a century ago.

#28 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash in CD sessions 2001? Illusions reunion in 96? » 687 weeks ago

One thing this interview confirms for me is that "Sorry" is largely aimed at Slash. Axl belittled people in the chats for assuming it was about him and suggested it was a combination of people/things. That may be to an extent but I don't believe for a second that most of it isn't aimed at him. 'You know where to put your/Just shut up and sing' relates to Slash/Duff specifically saying that to him. In fact, every fucking line can be shown to relate to his feelings towards him. And Madagascar too, obviously. And Rhiad.

#29 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Vinyl LPs » 687 weeks ago

Awesome thread, guys. A new independent record shop opened near me and i've gotten the vinyl bug. Am saving for a decent player and speakers but in the meantime i'm buying a few to get started. My first: Chinese. I'm gutted that this thread seems to be saying the the first few songs on each side will be unlistenable. How the fuck does that happen to one of the most anticipated records ever? Fuck.

I listened to Live Era the other day, and there's no doubt in my mind that the majority of the vocals are from the AFD redux 99 album.

SCOM from Live Era and the rerecorded segment from Big Daddy use the same exact vocals, they've just been mixed with live parts, the old band and a "92 era" ending. But it's the same vocals from the 99 re-recording. Nightrain, RQ and YCBM were also from 1999, it sounds. I'd also wager NR and Estranged were, too.

Maybe MSL wasn't bullshitting.

I'm amazed there's still debate or question over this. All the songs you mentioned were re-recorded vocals. He could have at least ran around the studio a bit to try and sound 'live'. I can only imagine at the time he was excited wanking over the possibilities of pro-tools and thought he was being clever and making shit better by editing all this stuff together.
