Some of those song titles....yikes.

Going for The Blues. As I said a while back, it sounds really rough here. And Finck's lead bits all throughout are a bit grating to me.

You can really hear it even in tracks like PRL. Sound like straight up BH material from the same era. (Still trying to figure out how PRL and Thyme fit together. I'm not hearing it.)

Yeah and I'm starting to wonder about some of these other songs as well. I think it was you or another bucket bot that pointed out that the bass on some of the tracks does not sound like Stinson.
We may also be seeing an element of the so called 'shadow lineups' concept.
They're not really GNR lineups but various lineups of musicians bringing songs to the table.
Interesting you mention that. I was just wondering if that's why some of the songs are listed as "B. Head CD" at the end. That these were tracks that were brought in, and already demo-ed out.

Sorry is god damn gold here. Probably the heaviest thing GNR ever recorded in any form.
Turns out Sebastian was right all along. Really does sound Sabbath-y and doom metal.

We don’t necessarily have life left but that is kind of irrelevant to artistic rights.
I’ve bin thinking that if it was that they were about to release this stuff wouldn’t lawyers and rec comp be involved? So it seems more personal or something. But it seems like good promo. However maybe they are playing Locomotive instead of anew track because of the leaks. Maybe the issue is when stuff leaks rec comp loses interest and then they have to do something new.
That's what happened last time with Skwerl, but I think it was more that they had everything ready to go and were just waiting for a good time. Also, with this being so old, they'd have even more issues than they had prosecuting Skwerl, because you have to be able to prove the person knowingly or could reasonably assume that commercial release was imminent. Hard to do with 20+ year old demos.

I voted off The Blues. Not the best take on the song imo. I don't like Robin's lead bits except for his solo. The guitars come in way earlier on this mix. When comparing this version to the rest of the tracks on RMCD1, it just feels a bit subpar to me. A great song that still feels unpolished.

Agree. 2 discs-24 songs-12 tracks each disc. Once Best Buy bailed everyone out, they could have rewarded the fans for their patience with more music and rewarded Axl by allowing him to release his full artistic vision.
I think there's some credence to the comment someone said the other day about GNR only having one more record in their contract, and Axl trying to get out of it so he can start releasing things the way he wants

Do we know if there's a correct rip of the song? That's what I want to know. Was planning on making my own CD's of these songs but don't want to put it on there because it skips.
There's a fan-made fix floating around.

I'm going to throw my hat in with the fake camp on this one until proven otherwise. Sounds too clean compared to what we've heard so far.
