I may sound crazy, but if the Giants upset Dallas, I think they go to the Super Bowl. .
If the Cowboys lose then I'm 99% positive that Green Bay will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Rivers looked great today.
The shirt he wore in the post game interview was a disgrace though. I'm guessing his Mom bought it for him and he promised to wear it at least once or something.

That's what I was thinking.
Why can't Jason do it?
I had heard that Jason Bonham was going to do it.

BTW, the Phil Lewis version of the band doesn't miss a beat with Stacey Blades on lead guitar. As a live player he's a legitimate star and as a studio player, he's a bit different than Tracii Guns but he definitely fits into what LA Guns is all about.

Nah that must have been somebody else. The Q nickname is just a phoenetic abbreviation of Cusack.
yeah i think he was Q after the Star Trek dude
Ok, you know I remember seeing that guy either on the htgth board or somewhere else. I never posted there but I've read their forum in the past and I sort of remember that guy now that you mention it.

This thread has reminded me of how much I liked L.A. Guns once I got turned on to them. Cocked and Loaded was the one that won me over, in particular Never Enough/Malaria and The Ballad of Jayne. Hollywood Vampires was decent but I preferred Vicious Circle. I really liked Long Time Dead/Chasing the Dragon/Killing Machine and Crystal Eyes off that one. That was the last I heard of them. Any suggestions for post Viscious Circle to reintroduce a one-time fan?
The Phil Lewis version of the band does an incredible version of "Long Time Dead" in their live set. To me it was the highlight of their show. The first time I saw them perform it, it was the defining moment of the show where the band went from just playing the songs (which they do well) to actually caputuring the audience and making a statement so to speak.
As for suggestions; "Waking The Dead" is required listening. It's the last album they did with Tracii Guns and possibly their best work. I also suggest, "Tales From The Strip" and "Rip The Covers Off" which are the two albums they've done with Stacey Blades. "Man In The Moon" is the first album they did after Phil Lewis returned and it's got some good songs, including the title track. "Hollywood Raw" also has some great stuff. As for non-Phil stuff. "The Black List" which is a collection of demos recorded with Paul Black is an interesting look into the band's roots that a lot of LA Guns fans seem to like. "American Hardcore" with Chris Van Dahl is a nice heavy LA Guns goes hardcore style record. Not many LAG purists like this album but I really do. "Shrinking Violet" with Jizzy Pearl of vox is a decent but I only like a few songs on it. Overall the only thing I'd avoid is "Cuts" which is an EP they put out after "Hollywood Vampires" that isn't all that good IMO.

Phil Lewis posted the interview link on the LAGuns.Net board and had this to say about it:

Brilliant. He's so right about Tracy burning bridges, Remember when the G&R behind the music came out witn not so much as a wisper of the so called founding member even tho I know for a fact that he did a two hour interview for the program. And I remember thinking how frosty they were to him the few times we played together back in the day.
If only I'd know then what I know so well now........

I missed the early game altogether. I guess the Giants picked up where they left off against New England. Maybe they can bring their A game to Dallas next week. I'm going for Green Bay in the NFC so having Dallas knocked off would be huge.
As for the AFC, I'm about 50/50 on the Colts and Patriots as to whom I'm cheering for now that the Steelers are out but overall I'm going to say that I'm cheering to see the Patriots run the table. I'd love to see history like that made.
I'll go ahead and give my picks:
Patriots
Colts
Packers
Cowboys

Waking the Dead is perhaps L.A. Guns' best. They have gotten better, and the real L.A. Guns is the band with Phil--period. L.A. Guns without Phil tanked. Tracii without Phil is tanking. Tracii without anyone big tanks. Just look at Brides of Destructions' second CD after Nikki Sixx left.
A lot of people feel that way in regards to the two band situation and particularly Phil Lewis being the voice of LA Guns. Personally I thought that "American Hardcore" was a great album and that both "Shrinking Violet" and Tracii's solo album "Killing Machine" were great but I do agree with you on the second Brides Of Destruction album.
i always wanted to know if Axl & Tracii ever released anything when they were in the same band together
I'm not sure there's any recordings of the two of them playing together outside of a YouTube clip of them playing with Shark Island @ Gazzaris in LA. The clip is a rather poor quality recording of them all doing a jam on a Led Zeppelin cover.
I interviewed Tracii Guns last year and I asked him how much of his songwriting actually shows up on the Guns N Roses records to which he responded: "I was involved in writing a few GnR songs but, I wouldnt say I wrote 1 complete piece of music for anything they have released. That band back then was a sum of all parts that stylistically just worked and I am really proud to be the GUNS in GUNS n ROSES."

Aside from that the only thing I can think of that I know Axl and Tracii appear together on is the 2004 Deadline Records release "Hollywood Rose: The Roots Of Guns N Roses" on which Tracii plays the guitar overdubs on the remixed songs.

Cocked and Loaded was THE back to school CD for my senior year of high school. If you didn't have it, you either weren't a hard rock fan or you were broke.
It's a bit hard to believe there are two bands using the LA Guns name now but one of the things I find to be amazing about the band is that amidst all of the breakups and hiatus' taken by so many of their peers (even more successful peers) that the band persevered through the 1990s and continued to release new material and tour. What's more interesting to me is that the albums they put out after Phil Lewis came back to the band in 1999 are among the best in their catalog and the best in the genre IMO. "Waking The Dead" is an amazing album and the others from 1999 up to now are all quality albums.
Jimmy if I'm not mistaken I remember Jizzy played with Phil Lewis and Brent Muscat at some adult entertainment thing recently that was hosted by Ron Jeremy.
