The final mix is hot garbage.

The “meltdown” effect should come through your speakers. Robin’s guitar is over fuzzed. There’s no cool drum break down they did live.

The 2006 version was closest to the mark.

I’m sure there’s a 2002-2003 version which sounds pretty great somewhere.

This like all songs on Chinese Democracy needed Axl doing his clean “helium” voice and avoiding theatricality.

The Blues and Madagascar were perfect in 2001.

Just straight, clean band all in a room versions.

I’d love to hear the pre-BBF instrumental.

Manic Street Preachers all over the outro.

Any more to add on this? Sounds funny.

Shut down the forum.

Archive the threads.

Keep the Whispers section.

This band is over. Just move on fellas.

I wrote a post on this somewhere.

The only one I think is definitively better is Prostitute.

I’d LOVE to hear the RTB version of it.

"Complete an album" =/= "have an album ready"

Very different things. The former implies some or much work to be done, the latter implies your standard finishing stages.

I'm past the stage of looking for hints in the tea leaves but it's worth pointing that out.

And it'd be nice but I'm not holding my breath.

Cutler beat Green Bay a handful of times.

He was better then but the Bears had their dominant defense. Rodgers was still figuring it out with a suspect roster but yeah the last 20 years the rivalry has balanced out.

Bears personnel people are the biggest problem. I’m not sure where they’re picking them from but if you’re in the Midwest, you’d rather go to Green Bay. If you’re from the coasts you go to LA/SF/SEA or New England. Historically anyway.

And as much as Nagy is Chicago’s Mike McCarthy, not very good and oftentimes boneheaded, if he had good personnel people he’d be serviceable. Not enough to get to a Super Bowl but they’d be competitive.

There's no doubt in my mind that the sabotaging of Axl and CD to get a reunion actually delayed the reunion by ten years, at least.

Exactly. And it happened countless times.

We could’ve had a proper Gilmour Floyd / Van Hagar era or it could’ve fallen on its face.

An excellent interview with a great subject and it recalls how far we’ve fallen in terms of the music industry in the macro and journalism in the micro. Wild is humorous, insightful, and humanizing.

The saga is much like a long ago divorce: time to move on. Axl and GnR can do that by having the courage to deliver a new baby.

Here’s hopin’.
