if finck leaves, now even the harcore fans of the new band won´t support this mess anymore (after the hardcore fans of the old gnr stopped 10 years ago obviously...)

''

Can't speak for everyone else, but it will takes a lot to get me back onboard for another line up change. I saw GNR as a band consisting of Axl and a core of song writers and contributors in Finck, Stinson and Dizzy. The rest could be replaced (after BH left). Now the core is also breaking up and I can hardly imagine this as a band anymore.

But as for a reunion? Unless Slash and Duff just quits the whole VR thing (and if I may so do..please do, its crap anyway) you won't see a reunion and Axl is way to nice to his band mates to just leave them behind after 10 years with Stinson and Finck (although a bit on and off).

But, even I, a person who always looked at reunion posters as insane retards with a naive wet dream see this possibility looming somewhere in the background. With the recent events, it at least got a theoretical possibility of happening.

I couldnt agree more with Lafton on the other stuff though, people ain't taking this serious enough. You just saw the whole of 2008 blow up in your face and people are being naive enough to think they can still release and album or even tour with Finck in 2008. 2008 gone is your best case scenario. 2009 gone too isn't far off in the distance if you ask me.

I get what you're saying.  I wish it wasn't the way it is.  There are a lot of things that should have been done differently by a lot of different people.  This isn't all Axl's fault, though I believe it's more his fault than anybody else's.  A lot of bad things happened to allow the old band to split anyway and not much that's happened since then has been good either.  Sure, there have been moments of things looking good, but everytime things start looking up, something happens that not only screws up the positive momentum, it actually makes it worse than it was before.  This is just the latest in a long line of "misfortunes" that at some point need to stop being looked at as coincidental.

For sure dude.

Let's see what Axl says about this. If he does. Or the management. Maybe Robin. It's sort of bad manners IMO to not tell fans when you suddenly change bands all of a sudden.

I would never blame Axl for any of this. He does his best. It's so ironic the media portrays him as this Nazi when IMO he's way to nice to his band members and let them do whatever they want, even playing in bands that basically is in a competition with GNR for PR and media attention.

anyone think it's possible one or more of robin's parts got replaced on the album by someone else and he got pissed and quit?

1. He got tired of waiting and quit (CD nowhere in sight)
2. Axl let him tour with NIN (CD close to nowhere in sight)

Unfortuantely, Axl made it exactly that...a company with employees.  It ceased to be a band before any of these guys were hired.

He made the band contribute, he made them write songs. He was specifically asking them to contribute as much as possible so it would be a band and not Axl Rose project. He can't do both. He have to settle for one thing. What you say is partially true, but judging from how this album was done, it's not right. If it's like you say and if it's like what I say, Axl is playing two things at the same time and that just won't work.

This is supposed to be a band. I never saw GNR as Axl plus a bunch of others playing. I always saw it as a band and Axl too judging from what he said about everyone contributing. Now, one major line up change is ok with me if the situation is right, but another one? A band just cant keep on changing key members! That's not a band to me but a fucking business company and I won't have it.

Frontman and lead guitarist are pretty vital members in a band like GNR

But of course, let them go and play with other big bands.

I imagine Slash in Motley Crue or something when GNR was off tour and wasnt recording Illusion. 16

The band survived losing it's 2 guitarists with the most impact on it's sound (Slash and Izzy), it can survive losing Robin and any other member yet to appear on an album without skipping a beat.

No they can't. The situations are not the same.

I personally think it's a great opportunity for both to have Robin check out the NIN camp again,

I don't. 16

It's a sign that this band is far from releasing anything and that was the last I wanted to hear.

you mean to each other?

Yep

axl wouldn't have paid heavy money to hire them if things weren't meant to start moving

Very true.

But this Finck biz...it might have come out of the blue. I have a slight feeling this band doesnt really revolve around too much talking when nothing is happening.

It's worth a shot but I doubt they know much anyway.

to you and i you may be right but to the rest of the world nobody will notice when the promo starts and the album is released cause nothing is live at that point anyways. does axl really care what the media thinks. all press is good press anyways.

That might be true, but it's still not an ideal situation. Finck is tied up for the rest of 2008, so there will be no touring. That is just not good.
