I agree although I think they could do without the logo, too. I don't really like it.

There is nothing wrong with fans supporting their fave bands. Radio stations usually can tell when people are calling/mass emailing as a part of a forum campaign anyway. It's certainly nothing new. I'm not sure how much these campaigns effect the momentum of singles, but I'd certainly like to see how music fans perceive it without the diehards trying to influence anything.

Strategy. No one pleads guilty at this stage in the game. That doesn't mean he won't plead guilty in the future.

I understand what you are saying, but that's a generalization.  I don't think people will always prefer the first album they fell in love with. I think the quality of the material certainly comes in play. For example I'm an Oasis fan. The first album I've heard of theirs is their second album. I fell in love with it. It  provided the soundtrack of my youth because those songs were everywhere. Yet, I prefer  their first album to it . Right now I also prefer the album they released a couple of weeks ago which is their 7th. I think most true fans of a band weigh their favorites on the quality of the material.
