I'm not talk about morals here...or who thought up the name...I'm talking public perception for, at the time in 1993, gnr was the world's biggest band...bar none...it is almost career suicide to carry on without the guitarist crowd favorite "sweetheart" that is/was Slash...go solo and the world looks a lot different
As far as chief songwriter, leader, formed the band BS ... that's all perspective ... fact is 5 down on their luck kids hooked up and caught lightning in a bottle ... then egos took over when hanger-ons saw a meal ticket within the hairline fractures of their drug and alcohol induced young millionaire states of mind
It`s not perspective, it`s true. Like most of you like to say those are cold hard undisputable facts. lineups change, it happens, some lineups are more popular and successful than others besides, most bands are dominated by one or two members and in most cases vocalist in the band assumes leadership duties especially, if he is a founding member as well.

Whole CD saga was fucked when Ezrin told Axl he had only 3 good songs. he is as much responsible for a clusterfuck that followed as is Axl himself or label.

I have seen Guns` 7 times live. I want something new or at laest a song which has been perfomed for a long time. i don`t want to hear Estranged zillion times ( which also happens to be my least favourite song).

I don`t want to be a party pooper but this tour has become boring and generic. I don`t see any difference between regroupering and NuGNR, everything is the same, identical seltists, stale shows. I won`t even bother to see them when they come to Europe if nothing changes and they won`t play something new.

Bringing in Robin Finck was by far the biggest mistake Axl made when it comes to so called " New Guns N`Roses " you don`t replace Slash with him, you just don`t. Buckethead was Axl`s last chance to do something noteworthy and have a cult following. Unfortunately, he blew it up.

There's a big difference between Robin 2002 and Robin 2006 though.
Aside from looking more rock in 2006 he seemed to be able to play a bit better, if you go back and watch a few 2002 boots its actually quite shocking how badly he plays some of the older songs. By 2006 it was more "adding his own interpretation" but in 2002 it's more like "can't carry the melody or play fast enough". By 2006 he was trolling but in 2001 I think he was just fresh from the circus
DJ I get the sense that he's a crafted player rather than a natural talent. He plays like someone who studies the instrument and adds in styles of stuff he liked. Much like how his visual appearance is a combination of a few famous things blended together. He's not a very original player but at least he knows the source material! I think people underrate him because that sense of facsimile is so apparent - he's sure not a guitar hero but audio-wise he isn't as bad as people say either.
As for Slash, I find it odd that people could enjoy DTJ but hate the guitar lines in Anastasia, they enjoy Lies but dislike By The Sword, they like Don't Damn Me but hate Wicked Stone.....are you sure you're listening to the guitar parts not the vocals?
Still, Robin was n`t half as bad as DJ. Dude ( I mean DJ ) can not improvise to save his life, always resorts to tremolo picking and does shortcuts of solos he can not play. I still stand by my statement he blows, Slash slaughters him even with one hand tied behind his back.
