#301 Re: Guns N' Roses » Better, As it Began instrumentals » 312 weeks ago

It's interesting to read Axl's comment on previous leaks.

“Having someone jeopardize your efforts so cavalierly is pretty much a nightmare,”

“I don't know that it hurt us though, at least as one might think. Hard to say.

“That's not to imply leaks don't hurt artists, but that they were earlier roughs and the level of sound quality is much higher with the finals.”

“That said, you have those who become emotionally attached to how the leaks sound, which, for better or worse, usually isn't so great to contend with.

“And it seems that those who often do so and complain publicly, oddly and coincidentally, have a history of basically being detractors as well even if they're somehow considered part of a ‘fan’ base.”

It implies he will be reading what people are saying about the songs, but I think on the whole, the feedback has been positive

It's interesting.

Nah we've been spoiled with vocals, seeing as there's allegedly only 3 left I say let the leaker drop all the instruments and finish up with a grand finale one two three Punch of the vocal songs

Ahh, I didn't know. It's all appreciated, so I'll go with your sentiment

Just going back through some old interviews, Moby mentioned Prostitute, as did Youth. Brain also said Prostitute was one of the stronger songs. I always wonder if it was one of Axl's favo(u)rite tracks, because everyone seemed to like it so much.

From Dave Dominguez

"In the late 90's, you did some work on the new Guns n'roses album. How did this come about, and give us your thoughts on some of those early tracks like Oklahoma, This I Love and Ides of March"

DD) I was a staff engineer at Rumbo Recorders and was about to quit or lose me mind I thought it was time to get what clients I had (practically none) and get out. The manager came to me and said Guns was coming in to do their next record and they had no producer or engineer and that needed someone with experience so I said "yes" and she also said they would be writing for two months and then recording for two months and they would be it (haha) seven months later. I bailed on good terms with Axl and the band but not with the studio. During that time they interviewed quite a few producers and I had to give them a technical rundown of what was going on which was pretty elaborate and insane. As the far as the songs go : "Oklahoma" was pretty much written by the time they got to the studio Axl wrote that with inspiration from the Oklahoma City bombing (more as a tribute to those who died if I'm not mistaken) "Ides of March" was a working title of one of the songs that came from a loop name that Dizzy came up with I think they kept the name but it's been years so I'm sure everything has changed by now. "This I love" is actually an old GN'R song that the original GN'R wrote and recorded for the "Illusion" records I like that song a lot.. it took a couple of weeks to find all the tapes because they finished recording "Use Your Illusions" on the road and one tape was in Paris another in London and another in Sydney I believe.

Can you please stop with the lists. Please.

You just lurk on forums and chat rooms with alts and make these lists about what you read and half the time it isn’t even correct.

I'm not the list troll. This info came from an american "Big B" source. Please, I hope you don't bother this information. Thank you.

Your “source” Brasky is posting all this info on GnFnR and in the Discord. You’re also taking what he says and filling in any gaps with guesses and are spreading false information. You aren’t some insider and you don’t know anything.

All you do is shit up messageboards and chat rooms with your endless lists.

You type exactly like the list troll, even down to the same kind of grammar and spelling mistakes, because you are the same person.

Just to add, the Stay of Execution trademark expired in 2015, so that is not going to be the name of the next album unless it is re-registered

Yes, Trunk is brilliant for getting info, and he is one person who they will speak to, and he asked the right questions. He's cleared up everything, the Terminator thing, the EP thing, and confirming they have been working on a new album which is what we knew all along. So late November, we will hopefully start getting hints and noise from engineers and studios as to work taking place and we take it from there. We also got confirmation of the South America dates at the end of March, which is a booked thing. He just forgot to ask about the European dates, but all in all, a very good three minutes of information.

I voted Europe as I wouldn't mind taking in another GNR show (providing Izzy is a guest again)

GN'R are in S America end of March and possibly Europe in the Summer

The start of it reminded me a little of Saigon Kick. It's interesting, and gets better with listens

Is it feasible that an employee on a film would know why Slash visited Axl's house a few months back. It feels far removed.

I hope it happens though
