What the hell was Me and My Elvis from the locker leaks then?
It's a crying shame if that remained an instrumental but it's possible
He mentions Monsters and Soul in the song.
It's Soul Monster.
We may never know what Elvis really was. As you know, I had reached the point where I don't even think that was GNR. It's Giant Robot/Bucket.
Maybe a clip from that instrumental was used in an early version of Soul Monster before he finally added vocals and the song titles were briefly merged.
Yes it was a beautiful instrumental. Crisp...razor sharp...another reason I think it was Bucket.

Instead of multiple discussions on the same thing...the leaks...let's keep that discussion in the General/Monsters thread and we'll use this one for any updates on the vinyl, shipping,streaming, etc.

The orchestra sting on "The General" is the bridge, not the intro like I suspected. I'm not sure it works for the beginning of the bridge but the ending of the bridge is pretty satisfactory.
If "Monsters" is "Soul Monster", someone try to listen for Robin's SRV solo Axl mentioned.
Edit: It could be the solo 2:00-2:15 but I'm no SRV expert
I can see why some would feel that guitar work is SRV inspired.
I don't really hear it but could see why some might go there.

The Cell clip is clearly Monsters.
I was right...the cell phone song was actually Soul Monster. Funny.
Bet the hoarders got a good laugh all these years.

The General sucks. Only song on CD it's better than is Scraped. This should've been released eons ago and never warranted any of the hype.
Soul Monster isn't bad. The music is pretty damn good. The guitar and bass is killer. This requires more listens.
I'm glad these are out now. We only need a couple more songs for full closure.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, god knows there's so much new music to talk about, but that Razz clip was mid 2006?
I think it was April-May 2006. Not very long after the CITR leak.
Hard to believe it's going on 18 years since those leaks. That's frightening.

I'm gonna say, this one is almost certainly a no at this point.
Even if there had been anything substantial mentioned in the past 2 months, it wouldn't be anyway.
The General pull ends this 1.
Oh yeah... anything past The General is a no go.
Not only does it rule out Atlas, pipedreams for an album this year are dead in the water.
If any type of EP/album was in the pipeline, this collosal fuck up would not have occurred. It would've already been past the point of no return.
It's crazy how each song release is a bigger fuck up than the one before it. Now we've regressed to the 2000s where they're not even capable of doing it. Like some of you, I now expect a different B side (live) IF the vinyl ever comes out...like how PC replaced Better for the Harley ad.
