The poster says, "This is my original mix from Impressao digital in Bahia Tajuca, Brazil. Until now, nobody has ever heard this recording as intended."
Whatever that means.

If they’re revisiting the CD vault and re-recording with Duff and Slash, why not revisit this old material and ask Axl to do his thing
Because that would require Axl to write new lyrics, which appears to be a massive roadblock for him.
And when you look at some of the lyrics on CD, it becomes even more embarrassing.
Nowt wrong with the lyrics on CD. Axl's lyrical turn of phrase is vastly superior to, say, Myles "rhyme light with right" Kennedy.

It's hugely frustrating to hear the potential in the songs written and recorded around that time, and consider what could've been. Like you say – Slash, Duff and Gilby came up with some great riffs in that period, but the lyrics were – at best – good. With Axl's lyrical touch and his ear for elevating a song through production and arrangement (but not the over-production that turned some ChiDem songs into a mess) they could've been *great*.
And similarly, in the Axl tracks of that vintage you can hear the potential. If he'd recorded TIL back then, with Slash doing something like his Orlando '16 solo, it could've been another November Rain.

Every time I think about them recording Slash and Duff overdubs on old Chinese Democracy songs instead of, y'know, getting together in a room and jamming something like every other fucking band on the planet.

He's sounding pretty good after his enforced break:

I would assume that the label would want a single to coincide with the UYI box, like SOYL in 2018, but Sp1at says it's CD era material, which obviously wouldn't be on said box set...it's very confusing.
TBF some CD era material is also UYI material. Axl was tinkering around with This I Love back in the UYI days, wasn't he?

I trawled through like 10 pages of this forum and I can't find the original post, but it looks like there was a (small) update on that Slash/Chester Bennington unreleased track "Crazy" over on a Linkin Park forum, back in April:
https://lplive.net/forums/topic/14766-u … ennington/
The version we all heard on WHYS Radio last year was a demo with programmed bass and drums done by Chris himself. He is currently in the studio with Matt Starr (of Ace Frehley) and Robert DeLeo (Chester's former bandmate from Stone Temple Pilots) to record live instruments for the song. Slash's guitar parts and Chester's vocals will remain the same in the final version.
There's no release date for the song yet, but they already have Slash's blessing to release it. Once the song is finished, it will be sent to Talinda for her approval. Chris wants to release it as soon as possible.
Here's the original clip:
Wish they'd hurry up and release it, I've been wanting to hear it for ages.

In this order: rest up, get the vocal cord surgery, tighten up the sets and rework the songs to either make use of the baritone voice or transpose them down into a more doable vocal range. Health comes first.
And I've always been less interested in vocal gymnastics than in dynamics - what I like about Axl (and, say, Scott Weiland, who could never approach Axl's range) is the passion in the vocals. If I wanted to see GN'R songs performed note-perfect but with a complete absence of emotion I'd go see Myles Kennedy.
