Batman Forever was conceived and shot as a much different movie than what we eventually saw on the screen. And I'm aware Watchmen was in production before the release of The Dark Knight, I was referring to the hype and its attention it's been getting as well as push from the studio a movie like this never would have garnered if it weren't for the success of these recent "adult" comic book movies.

First off, I can't believe the reboot has a vote against it already. Second off, I think many horror fans put the very first flick on a pedestal it doesn't quite deserve. I'm not going to be surprised to see it making the final rounds because I'm used to people casually placing the first entry in any franchise as the best, but here it's simply not the case. That has nothing to do with Jason ultimately being the killer or not, it has to do with the film itself being derivative and lacking any real charm. The series didn't hit its stride until Part II, one of its better overall entries. I want to see who'll be the first to vote against Friday '80 so I can applaud them for their courage. However, I'm too busy trying to erase crap like Freddy vs. Jason from the list for the time being. Oh, and it will be gone soon.

RawHeadRex is one of my favorite horror movies. On a lot of old horror forums I used the handle PumpkinHeadRex which combined two of my favorite '80s flicks. I understand that Clive Barker wasn't happy with the finished product of this or Underworld/Transmutations (also directed by George Pavlou) and this prompted him to take complete control of the eventual Hellbound Heart adaptation, Hellraiser. RawHeadRex is an atmospheric, visceral, truly disturbing work that transcends its budgetary limitations and works on far more levels than it really should. Please be aware that many, many people are not fans of this movie and often cite the RawHeadRex creature make-up as silly. But to me those people were always missing the point. I always found the make-up to be very ethereal and off-putting. I have been looking for a proper DVD of this movie for the last couple years with no luck. I refuse to pay $200 on eBay for a used copy of the disc. Until then, I'll stick to bootlegs or the old VHS. Great movie and I'm glad to see someone mention it on here.

While our first round of eliminations got off to a rocky start, we had a good time voicing our opinions and ultimately saw Jason X get booted first. I know we've got a lot of fans of the series on here, so things'll only get harder with each passing elimination. Each individual entry seems to have its share of the fanbase, so I'm looking forward to seeing things get more heated.
