I think when the Best Buy Deal expires, u will see them maximize it by re releasing it with a new booklet, maybe throw a couple new tracks on it and then tour and do it right.
I think they sort of fucked Best Buy, having them buy that many albums and then profiting without helping much THEN once that deal is over, they start the real promotion thus doubling the cash efforts.
Pretty smart if they do it. I just don't want to hear how Axl is like a Coffee Shop Indy rocker that is all about the "art"

one time, something came out, I can't for the life of me remember but all i kept reading was all this positive press! I said holy shit, GNR are back, people LOVE THIS.
I come to GNRevolution and see the 200 negative articles and go "OH YEAH" hahaha I forgot as well.

Its cool. no hard feelings.
Its easy to forget the censorship etc over there so every post I make there is positive but trust me, that isn't intentional. Remember, I always try to be fair. If CD came out and GNR released videos and toured and were out there working their ass off and CD still flopped, I'd be positive as hell.
I am only negative because its the same shit different year, only difference is we have a CD.
Same with my Bon Jovi stuff, If u read my posts etc, I never claimed they were this huge deep, change the world band, but I respect them because I've been a fan for 20+ years and they've never let me down and they release music I like.
When they do stuff I don't agree with: Country album, American Idol etc etc, I can link u to post where I ripped them a new asshole.

This would've been an amazing album in the mid 70's late 70's early 80's back before music became single driven. Cause the album from start to finish is a great trip there just really isn't a single piece that really catches lightning in a bottle and appeals to the masses.

I AM a GNR fan. I Do not want CD to fail, and I don't want Axl to fail
HOWEVER, I will not turn blind eyes and buy and swallow the tons of bullshit that come from Guns N Roses. If they do something great, I will be the first to give them credit but when they fumble and drop the comeback ball countless times, I am also gonna be honest about that.
When CD first came out, I loved it, I was excited, couldn't believe i had it and I thought it was a great album. As the weeks have passed and the more I've listened, it has quickly dropped as the songs just haven't had the staying power and I've tired of them pretty quickly.
If you are going by Here Today Gone To Hell posts, u are even more lost than I thought. U do realize that every single negative thing gets DELETED over there right? U do know this?
I have posted countless times about the shitty promotion, bad single choice etc etc etc ONLY to have those posts deleted. I post here what I can't post there therefore it looks as if I do nothing but post positive over there and negative over here but that isn't the case.
It is just the bullshit politics over there. Jarmo knows how I feel about CD and this band, I have more negative karma than anyone, I've had countless fights with mods, Jarmo and I have been called everything under the sun.
So don't sit and act like I am positive and kiss ass over there and two faced over here cause that just isn't so.
I have stayed pretty consistent over the years. does that mean I can never change my mind? Of course not. I will always be honest however, regardless. Somedays are more positive than others. Im not some GNR basher/hater that looks for any reason to be negative, so of course I'm gonna have positive posts.

I would love to see the worldwide numbers for AC/DC and Metallica.
I guess what made me get so deflated was seeing how many units Metallica and ACDC moved in the first week.
to be honest, I think I predicted around 400k for CD but after I saw what AC/DC and Metallica moved, I got very optimistic and almost expecting GNR to at least do 500 to 600k
when the numbers came in, it was sort of shocking.

I love this discussion, i know we are well off the beaten path but I love message forums where discussions get a little off topic and turn into a really cool beast.
To get back on Topic though:
I just wonder if the 20k GNR sold last week will be an indication of the numbers it will pull from here on out? OR was it just cause it was the week after Christmas?
I really admire and respect GNR fans that can turn this into something positive. I can't.
Gold isn't bad I don't guess... 2 million worldwide is pretty bad though.
I know in the Rock God thread people were discussing certain other bands and even those that kinda bombed in the US still moved 6-8 million worldwide. so the fact GNR aren't the overseas phenomenon we all thought for me is WAYYYYYYYYYYY more shocking than the US number.

I have to chime in here. Bon Jovi will NEVER be a rock GOD. That is a silly notion. The band and the man (Jon) has never released a ground breaking album, nor have they or ever will "change the face of music". Their music will never "define a generation". They will never write music that "only they could write" and "break new ground" with their music. Music snobs and elitist will never ever take them seriously.
That being said, Bon Jovi has recorded some good music and has entertained millions of people around the world They are ultra-mega rock stars that sell tons of albums and their music will be popular for years and decades to come. However, they will never be Rock GODS. They don't deserve a seat at the table with Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, PInk Floyd, and so on and so fourth.
This is not my opinion, this is fact. Fact Fact Fact. When y'all are 75 years old, you can look high abd low, deep and shallow, but you will never find Bon Jovi or Jon Bon Jovi in the category of rock GOD.
Album sales and ticket sales do not define a rock GOD.
