I think a lot of you have been making too much of what Axl had to say about Slash in his latest "rant." Did this latest interview close the door to a reunion with Slash? Yeah, I guess so. But it's Axl fucking Rose. I think you have to learn to take his grand statements with a grain of salt. If Axl's word was rule, we'd have had an album a decade ago and there would have been a Better video a couple months back. Does he hate Slash today? Maybe. Will he hate him tomorrow? I dunno. He seems to alternately hate himself and/or his fanbase on a day by day basis. I just never put much into that Billboard interview. He's gone out of his way to extend an olive branch to Duff and Izzy. Now this? Wait and see. There's no reunion without Slash, or the word itself wouldn't be used.

Yeah, I think Duff was waiting for the band to get back on track before he realized Slash was gone for good and Axl had strong armed control of the band, at least from his perspective. Then he bailed. I don't think it was a matter of siding with anyone. It was a matter of trying to wait out a storm that unfortunately still hasn't passed.

isoHunt and Mininova for me. The loss of The Pirate Bay would essentially neuter all torrent sharing. It's already been removed from Torrent Scan.

I have nothing against House, it just isn't my thing. I like heavily serialized dramas. Even shows like The Mentalist and Lie to Me, which I initially liked, became too procedural.

Anyway, tonight's episode of Heroes was easily the best since the first season, maybe even since Company Man. The Fugitives story arc continues to recement this as one of the best shows of its kind on TV right now.

I think either show you mentioned is stronger than The Simpsons at this point, but I know they'd never drop their flagship show like that.

Anyone else who was interested in Dizzy's solo stuff should go check out the band in this thread I just started http://www.gnrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?id=5946. Throw me a frickin' bone. I post so many new bands in there and get little to no response. 16

I see what you're saying jorge, that's a good point. I always just viewed the audience being foreign as incidental.

Von, BOM's ticket price inflation estimates are better than nominal dollar estimates. Adjusting for inflation essentially makes the comparison come down to ticket sales, which is the most accurate reflection of a film's popularity. The movie industry wants to hide the fact that actual ticket sales have been going down over the years, so they hide it by having ticket prices go up every year and report that every new movie around the block is breaking some kind of record, even though the comparisons are in nominal dollars rather than actual tickets sold. The music industry doesn't hide its album or song unit sales by only announcing the dollar amount instead of the unit amount. Only the movie industry does this and it's because the industry is going downhill from what it was decades ago.

I'm aware of the rise of ticket prices being a main factor behind adjusted box office grosses, but I and many others don't agree with BOM's dollars per tickets sold values when they post their inflated numbers. Ticket prices have not gone up to such a degree that a film in 2003 would have made over $10 million more selling the same amount of tickets today. The average price of tickets has not gone up that much since then. That's what I meant.

Oh no, and I completely agree with you. I just wanted to support what you said by throwing my own two cents in. 5
