Is it just me, or has Axl sung the first chorus with the wrong lyrics at every single show? "As the years go by" instead of "with brainwashed pride". I'm starting to think someone typed it into the teleprompter wrongly.
I've heard him flub the beginning at least once, but I hadn't noticed it repeatedly. Maybe he's not looking at the teleprompter at that time.

Very nice! I'd buy it.

Capacity is about 75,000 for a football game, but I am unsure how many tickets are available for this event. The Georgia Dome had its largest overall attendance on record with a total of 80,892 attending the 2008 SEC championship game. I think this is the first "Dome" show of the tour (not counting the Vegas shows in the basketball arena). They started setting up on Sunday and finished Tuesday. It takes 36 hours to erect the steel and 8 hours to set up lighting and the video boards. 16 man metal framing team, 125 members of the road crew with GNR that travels with the band and 125 local workers help assemble the stage and run the show.
They played the SkyDome in Toronto, though I'm not sure if the roof was open or not.

Maybe not sing, but definitely acknowledge it. They brought out cake for Duff and Axl's birthday back in the day.

I'd choose Don't Damn Me out of those three. You think Axl will sing happy birthday to Slash like he did for Beta? I'd settle for that.

Another show that sold out very fast with a second date added. This might be the biggest crowd the band plays in front of on the US tour. Don't quote me on this.
It's also the halfway point of the US leg, further than many of you thought they'd get.
Opener is Lenny Kravitz again.
SETLIST:
Dallas will have the biggest crowd I'd imagine. That stadium is massive. Tomorrow's crowd could be the biggest so far, but I'd expect Dallas to eclipse it. It'd be somewhat disappointing if it didn't in fact, just considering how many more people it holds (20k).

Here is what I like about Sweet Melissa, she seems sweet. She seems to be enthusiastic and fun. She is seems to be no drama and has good backing vocals. Is she needed? no. Could Dizzy handle all this shit? yes. Do I "want" her there? No. But she doesn't bother me any more either. But on ISE, I see her banging on some shit and I am kind of like "there are no fucking keys on Its So Easy, please sit the fuck down" but I fear saying that would piss off Atari and John and I would be called an oppressor..
That's a nicer way of putting it. I think it's harsh to say she's useless. That's just not true. She may not be an absolute necessity, but to say she doesn't do anything or add anything to the performance is just plain wrong. She clearly plays a big role in singing background vocals. So if you're asking what she's up there for, that at the very least is one area she excels in.

I love Melissa's harmonies, like the vibe.
I think some have drawn a line in the sand and fail to see the need for anyone outside of the AFD 5. They've learned to accept Dizzy and they may be willing to accept Richard and Frank to a lesser extent. But the 2nd keyboardist role really seems to rub people the wrong way. So I don't think it really has anything to do with her personally. It seems to me that anyone in that role won't be accepted by a segment of fans.

Yep, I'm not a fan of hers
But she's a GIRL. Aren't you supposed to like her by default.
She's the 2016 version of Tracy & Roberta. Nice eye candy (if you're into skinny J-pop looking chicks), but completely pointless and unnecessary up there
Every time I see her in anything to do with this line ups successful run, it just pisses me off
I like her backing vocals myself. She's become more noticeable and prominent to my ears with each show.

faldor wrote:. They want to hear all the classics, what is that, 15 songs at best? That means they play at least 8 songs a majority of the crowd isn't all that familiar with. At least that's the way I see it.
Agreed, although I know when I've seen a band I'm a casual fan of - if the show is amazing I will sometimes go home and look up the setlist online and check out where the songs I didn't know came from or what they were.
So it's not impossible the occasional audience member will dig Chinese Democracy or This I Love and go hunt them out. Especially considering a lot of people didn't sit through the CD saga and moved on with the line up change.
Right, which is probably a good reason they're playing 4 songs off of CD. A large majority of people attending these shows didn't pay close attention to the CD saga. I don't see the harm in trying to expose throngs of people to the songs they missed out on the first time around. That's not to say that some people haven't bought tickets because certain members are missing, certain songs are or aren't being played, or ticket prices are just too dang high. But they're still selling boatloads of tickets and I didn't witness one unhappy customer leaving Gillette Stadium the other night or at the hotel following the show. Quite the opposite. So they must be doing something right.
