I'll believe a tour when I see it, and if they do tour, they need to start the tour in central cali to make up for those canceled dates in 06 to 'finish the album'.
I'd like to see them start in Philly.

the only plausible solution, besides just alternating album covers, would be giving each version a unique song, so each album has 14 songs, with one song that differentiates between each.
cd 1 has the general
cd 2 sorry
cd 3 this i love
while all the other tracks are the same.
or something to that effect.
That's a good way to piss off people though. Force us to buy 3 copies to get all of the tracks? I'm buying just 1 cd unless the others are jam packed with bonuses (doubtful).

I havea funny feeling That this will be a Smashing pumpkin type thing. Different coversart/color containg different bonus songs. Good idea to make a buck off hardcore fans.
I'll be so pissed if we're forced to buy 3 versions to get all of the tracks.
I just pre-ordered six copies of Chinese Democracy.
3 CD, 3 vinyl.
Wait until they go on sale!

Maybe it's from alternate lineups and it's CD as it sounded then, version 1 being from 99, version 2 01/02 and version 3 being the 06/07 version. Highly unlikely, but I can think of a few people who might be in favour of it...
Nah that's not really feasible. It would confuse the average consumer. It would only appeal to the absolute diehards.

See, for me James' estimates are more realistic. 500,000 in this day and age seems really high to me.
Captain Winkler, you cant really compare GH to CD. The GH appeals to an entirely different audience, in my opinion. Greatest Hits sets are meant for the causual fan who enjoy these timeless classics but doesn't own the band's entire catalog. CD is more appealing to the diehards. So I'm not sure CD will even do a fraction of the GH sales, but I'll guess we'll see. Anyone know the first week sales for the GH?
I also question if people really care about CD. I mean yes, it certainly does get attention in the press, but what about the actual music buying public? I'm a total internet nerd and I visit a couple of other music boards and there has been very little interest in the news about CD being released. Not many people commented on either board, and the majority of the little comments were all negative. They were either bashing Axl or the leaks.
I don't know maybe there will be more interest when we get closer to the actual release date, but so far it has seemed pretty anti-climatic. The myth was greater than reality methinks.

Oh I am not saying The Killers are a big act here Von. Their record sales as far as I know aren't that great first week. I think GNR will have a tougher time beating Nickleback who single is all over and not just on Rock stations.
Sam's Town sold over 300,000 albums in its first week.
As for GNR's competition, GN'R will be one if they want it imo. If they push, they'll be #1. The Killers & Britney are NO competition for them at all. None. The Killers are "so two years ago" (at least in the U.S.), and Britney has been done FOR YEARS as a bankable music act.
The Killers are "so two years ago?" LOL. GNR are so two decades ago. What makes you think the Killers won't compete against them?
How many do we realistically expect GNR to sell in its first week?

Does Anyone know this. Wasn't ACDC's new disc supposed to be a Wal-Mart exclusive? Here in Canada they'll sell it everywhere?
Yeah, it's a Walmart exclusive in the US.

There better be a good reason that one version is $13.99 and the other is $19.99.
$13.99 is their pricing for a regular single disc version of an album. $19.99 is their pricing for limited edition versions. I imagine it is a cd plus bonus dvd. When it is time for release the price should change to around $9.99 and $14.99.
