I've tried five or so "advanced recipes" in the last year. Of those one have been successful. A lot of that is down to taste I think.

This is called a Cuban Sandwich. It's a bit expensive for one person because of the pulled pork, but if you are making it for several it will not cost all that much.

Bread
Cheese
Onions (Pickles is part of the original recipe, but I find they are much too prominent for my taste. Instead I put a pickle on the side)
Smoked ham
Mayo
Mustard
Cayenne pepper
Pulled pork

You can use different bread but for me the best results have been with a simple store bought baguette. Too much bread will make it difficult for you to melt the cheese later. The half size ones are best because you have to do the finish on them with a panini press or some such. You can also use a frying pan for the same purpose. Just press it down with something, then turn until the cheese is melted.

I start by putting the baguettes (or flutes) in the oven for 10 minutes. After they are done let them cool, then later cut them in half. When the oven is free I start to cook the pulled pork. 30 minutes. While that is going on I start to prepare the other stuff.

Mix two tablespoons of mayo with two tablespoons of mustard (I recommend the sweeter type). Add cayenne pepper to that, however much you feel like. Then you apply this sauce to both sides of the bread. Put a slice of cheese and a slice of ham on each bread. You can do one side or both. Cut up your onions and put them on the bread that will sit at the bottom of the sandwich (or pickles if that's your thing). When the pulled pork is done you apply that to the bottom bread as well, then you put on the top and squeeze them together. After that it goes in the panini press for about 2 minutes until the cheese is melted, and then you are ready to go.

If you like pork products this is just amazing.

Terminator 2

James Cameron is a very good film maker. He has a godly talent for entertainment and his action sequences are in a league of their own. When I was growing up this movie was the bomb. To a teenager's eyes it had everything you could wish for in a visual experience.

As a grown man however I sense some weaknesses. While the action set pieces still remain as strong as ever, and the sound design and musical scores often work in perfect tandem, the storyline, characters and universe building have some glaring flaws. Cameron is a talented man, professional and driven, but his cultural capital is poor and his need for fame and success get in the way of his creative vision. When he directs action he is flowing freely, but when writing characters and stories he is derivative and superficial. It's as if he does not trust his own inner artist in these aspects, opting to go for safe and trodden routes. The contrast to his action sequences, which are both original and inspired, is quite obvious. He goes from perfection in one scene to heavy handed messaging in the next. His culture, as it is, is decidedly modern with little else to support his foundations. To a child or a young man this may appear interesting, but to mature men it feels rudimentary and childish. In his private life he does not appear to be a humble man. He is arrogant, and I dare say the type of arrogance that is borne from ignorance. I respect his talents but not his character. Terminator 3, while inferior in every other way, is actually a lot more interesting and realistic in how the characters are built and in the interpretation of the source material. The ending is the best of the whole series, while in Judgement Day it may be the worst.

Don't follow the recipe in the video. It is the most tasteless shit I've had in my life. I feel cheated.

You're right, I count 182 songs on their official albums so more than twice GN'R output, thrice if we don't count CD (no hits there).

Still I think their discography is mighty strong. How many bands tour stadiums on the back of 3 LPs and an EP?

How do you make a pizza out of those?

The lack of music sucks, but he wouldn't be Axl if he wasn't a madman. All great artists are somewhat mad in my opinion.

He'll go down in history with about 70 songs to his name. Not very prolific, but on the other hand most of them are very good songs. The only band I can think of with as many hits in a slim discography has to be the Beatles.

My skills are limited so I fear I've taken water over my head with this recipe:

Finally I got all the ingredients in the pan, cooked on medium for at least 30 minutes and now I have to wait 90 more minutes on low heat. It's already 11pm lol!

Smells pretty good though.

Vibrant diversity on display in France while the President enjoys some Elton John.

Nothing in the media about this!
