I think I still have an ROV t-shirt lol
I have the ROV coffee cup somewhere.

The bit they inserted about the orders being automatically cancelled unless you confirm you don't want it to be says it all.
I didn't even see that.
Yeah...it's not coming out.
I'm no longer expecting it.
If it doesn't leak... we're not getting it.
I just checked mygnr. They are in full meltdown mode. A bunch of people canceling orders.
Not surprising really. Management could've cleared this up with a brief statement but they care about their hardcore fans as much as they care about this song.

There was more excitement than when CD actually dropped.
There was almost zero excitement for CD.
The very definition of anticlimactic.
Only 3 songs to look forward to...even those leaked right before release...and the fact the band didn't even acknowledge the damn thing made it all so pointless.
The track list also provided no legitimate closure although some people did move on.
Hard to believe it's 2023 and those other songs expected at the time (other than Silkworms) still haven't been released/leaked.
It’s a shame we didn’t get the locker leaks back then.
It really is.
Had the Locker leaks happened 2004-6, it would've changed the dynamics of the forums completely.
99% of the negativity revolved around how much material did they really have, was it mainly just instrumentals, etc. All this negativity gets washed away by discs 1-4.
The GNR camp would've instantly had the majority of the forums on their side, excited for the album, and the handful only there to argue about Slash or old vs new would've probably walked away due to no one caring about that anymore.
It also would've brought a lot of positive media exposure.
They really should've considered it instead of just a handful of people having the songs.

mrsaxlrose drama in rov chat *shudders*
Holy shit.
Yeah that was really bad. I always liked her but yeah...that was getting out of control. That racial crap which was about 15 years ahead of its time...and then that other drama on the forums/PMs.
Looking back it's hard to believe that stuff with her on ROV only lasted like 2-3 months. I knew her before that of course...she was luvsAxl4ever at mygnr.
#325 Re: Guns N' Roses » Post UR top 2 Favorite Gnr forum moments » 98 weeks ago
Not exactly a moment but was a big fan of the RoV chatroom.
That thing was a bitch to moderate when there was around 20-40 people in the room on weekends. I really hated when there would be multiple spats going on... then I'm having to referee both chat room and PMs.

1.The 2006 leaks, all the insanity surrounding it, which led to the birth of ROV. For any new(er) members here, ROV (Roses of Velvet) was Evo before Evo.
Just an insane, exciting time for the fan base. It'll never be topped.
2. 2005 in general. Other than the April Fool's IRS Leak, it was a dead year GNR wise yet the quality of forum discussions were at their peak. So were all the forums off topic sections.
I say it periodically but the 2004-5 community really deserved a major leak. Looking back, bat shit crazy that all those amazing discussions involving the likes of Evagnraxlrosette, davegnfnr2k, Booker Floyd, ppbebe, Saul, KV, mikegiuliana, etc and various Evo members there at the time never actually involved discussing newly released/leaked songs.
Honorable mentions...
- EFISH (RIP) posting that picture of himself in 2006 riding his bike in front of his house and how a bunch of people on HTGTH/2K went into anaphylactic shock when they realized he was just a kid. I laughed for days over that. Still laugh when I think about it once in a blue moon.
- That mygnr member posting that obvious bullshit story after Better leaked saying he played it at his high school and all the kids started dancing down the hallways.
- That time I got banned from Splat in summer 2006 for owning ChineseBlues into oblivion. He couldn't deal with it so he begged someone on staff (The Raven? Gigger?) to ban me.
God I hated that fucking guy. I would've dragged him out to a canal bank and kicked his teeth in if I ever could've met him. Closest we came was when he said he was going to Inland Invasion, told him I'd meet him there, he backed out of going or just never mentioned it again, and I decided to just wait for the Sacramento show instead.
Looking back...our feud was so pointless. Much ado about nothing. We should've just buried the hatchet like I did with his buddy rainX. Might could have even gotten along.

They've now officially scraped the bottom of the incompetence barrel.
The Stones released the Angry vinyl within days of announcement....GNR/TB had 2 months and still wasn't enough time.
I'm sticking to my theory that sales are pure shit... regardless of them briefly claiming it was sold out....and they're going to delay it hoping for more sales. If sales don't increase, they'll shit can it.
The Perhaps single is already dead/old news and since no one but a few hundred people know of The General's existence, they'll get no blowback from pulling it.
If the goddamn thing was sold out, that first batch would already be on the way. Things that sell like hotcakes do not get delayed.

Yeah and I laughed like a hyena on crack when Axl himself referred to them as that.

I was one of those people. I was expecting a mind fuck like Slayer meets The Cure. Now that's real fire and ice.
I still don't like it although don't hate it to the extent I did back in the day.
Luckily my hopes for The General are nothing like they were in the 2000s. Like I mentioned earlier, at best it will be another Riad or Madagascar.
If it was on the level of peak Floyd like some used to believe, they wouldn't have sat on it for 20 years.

They're dead.
Some others died over the past 15 years but don't remember their names at the moment.
That's life... I also wonder what happened with lot of people from that era.
Who knows something about Madison... ?
She surfaced briefly right after the reunion on mygnr but quickly faded away.

I wanted to order it, but I'm not so hyped for shipping, is there any or is it free shipping, because I didn't see any information on it?
I still haven't ordered it.
Two reasons..
I wanted to just buy it on a site like HDtracks even though the chances of a digital release appear slim.
While I do listen to vinyl occasionally, it's only iconic albums that sound amazing on vinyl..not new 7" singles that will more than likely have horrid production/mixing issues.
I should probably just break down and order the damn thing. Maybe they're waiting for sales to hit a potential number before giving it the green light.

#330 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Beatles to release “Now and Then”” » 98 weeks ago
Yep...this is it. Historic.
One final Beatles song. Not a massive Beatles fan but I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Had it not been for George Harrison shit canning the idea due to tensions with McCartney, this song would've been finished and released during the Anthology series in the late 90s.
Probably better that they waited. The technology is vastly superior to what it was at the time and they needed AI to save those Lennon vocals from a shitty quality demo.
Actually there's the other mythical song...the 14 minute Carnival of Light from 1967. Unlike Now and Then, this is artsy fartsy avant garde shit. The few who've heard it say it's basically McCartney's own Revolution #9.
It's inexcusable that it never surfaced. So many Beatles fans have died over the decades who never got to hear it. It was almost released a couple times but would get vetoed by one of the group (Yoko, Harrison, Starr). Yoko probably vetoed it because McCartney hated Revolution 9 and fried to get Lennon to leave it off the White album.
McCartney should've just leaked the damn thing.
It'll probably come out when all of them are dead. No way in hell Apple sits on the final unreleased Beatles song even though it's just an instrumental.
