The song list is just killer! Whoever chose the songs for Rock Band 2 knew what they were doing! Very diverse and besides "Eye of the Tiger" not really any overtly "pop" tunes. Shit I've heard Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, Motorhead, Sonic Youth, and Judas Priest in the past hour just letting it play!

I would suggest more mature comments, than some posted by fellow douchnozzles trying to be smart!

No offense, but IP or any other personal information on members of Evolution is not in the "public domain", and never will be either.
No, I would never want that--I thought the poster mentioned where they were posting from.

So let me get this straight, we think the Azoff clown was potentially part of a marketing campaign by Universal? - to great a buzz and some mystery or something?
Gee if it is can they at least employ someone with an IQ of half MSL's to run the game. That idiot was so unbelievable it was pathetic.
I did not see the main conversation--was he? The riddle pieces, when put in order, seem not only prepared, but make sense. The problem was, he was posting them individually in response to different posts. Very interesting. Were they posting out of Atlanta?

Enjoy! And, if this is already in another thread, sorry.

One more thing to check on--I am pretty damn sure (I need to verify), I was told a few months ago that Idolator was purchased by Universal. Funny, the riddle, and then a story linking to it? Let me verify, before the real speculation begins!

Are you guys discussing MSL's latest?
the events of the last week have really changed the GNR landscape when it comes to the hoarding of information and material. the more fernando attacked me, the more people i had emailing in to say that they'd received songs from him in the past. the more azoff threatened journalists, the more people i had emailing in with stories their editors were prohibiting them from writing.
i've had to sit on this story a day or two longer than i would have liked as it took quite a bit of time to double source the facts. however, after speaking to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, mistersaintlaurent.com is pleased to report the following:
the current intended release date for CHINESE DEMOCRACY is november 25, 2008. it is azoff's strong preference that the release be done through best buy and not wal-mart. i've been told his reasoning is two-fold. #1, azoff's goal is to be able to create future bidding wars between the two retail giants for his other acts and feels best buy will lose interest in these type of promotions if they always lose out to wal-mart. #2, if he goes with wal-mart, he has to convince axl to swap a couple of tracks from volume 1 with tracks from the other volumes to avoid the dreaded parental advisory warning.
i was also told that the story was leaked by azoff to put pressure on best buy to up their offer and close the deal. it's no coincidence that this story hit right before wal-mart's AC/DC deal was finally publically announced. it is azoff's hope that fear of ending up with egg on their face will force best buy to roll out the red carpet in every imaginable way for chinese democracy.

To be quite honest, I think he used his own logic, and a few bits of information to figure that out. We all know they want this out for X-Mas shopping, thus ensuring it will be a mid to late November release (either the 18th or 25th). Secondly, it was obvious mentioning Best Buy and Wal-Mart together in the leak to the press was a bargaining chip. We also know that Best Buy is preferrable for a multitude of reasons (language, image, etc.).

come on lets play nice now
some people, like me for instance, hate modern alt. rock/modern rock stations so we wouldnt know or care what they play cuz it usually ends up just being all the same old shit over and over again being played

Absolutely, but factual at the same time. I agree, vanilla modern rock stations are annoying. On the other hand, I don't hear Hootie and the Blowfish on the radio more than Zombie or NIN.

Secondly, it isn't negativity. It's fact. Turn on your radio. Tell me the last time you heard anything like this on it? Whenever the last White Zombie album came out? 1995ish? It's not cutting edge - it's a bunch of 90s music thrown into one pot and stirred. That isn't getting played on the radio anymore. Hootie and the Blowfish, PJ, Nirvana, and Alanis Morrisette are the 90s bands that gets played on the radio today - not Prodigy, NIN, White Zombie, etc. I couldn't tell you the last time I heard any of those bands on the radio or TV.
Why would you expect this to be different?
I agree with some of your points. It was played on a major station in my area, and most of the feedback was negative, although some people noted--if it wasn't GNR, they would like it. Which brings up one thing, that the management must deal with--latent Axl-hatred, for really no good reason. That's a whole different conversation though. Some others said it had a nice industrial vibe. Really, like any song, one should listen a few times before writing it off.
But I must say, what you state as fact, is not true. I mean, what dork-ass Muzak station are you listening to? I have stations in the metro I live in, where I can hear Alanis Morrisette and Hootie in the Blowfish, right next to A-ha, old Madonna (Celebrate, etc)--in other words it's a soft-rock Muzak station (either a Satellite feed, Clear Channel syndicated, or awful elevator station). BTW, Zombie has released some great stuff since 1995, and I listen to a few killer alt. rock/modern rock stations that play Zombie, NIN, Prodigy, etc. So, I am curious, are you living in hole, are your ears clogged with wax, or do you just have selective hearing which you use to make a point? I have watched your messages, which jump off the page like someone with impotence issues who is angry at the world, for awhile. If you added some perspective, other than just slamming everything, maybe one could believe your so-called "facts" more easily. Nonetheless, you have a right to your opinion, albeit it flawed, subjective, and non-factual.
Reading comprehension...look into it.
How ironic, what a comeback!
