I thought he gave some good answers, considering it was an off the cuff and flawed (due to servers slowing), it turned out to be a nice little Q and A session.

Its always interesting reading his comments, he is a very good speaker, I wish we got to hear more from him.

I'm not buying the re-issue though, I wouldnt even if I wasnt dirt broke.
I have a bee in my bonet about the fact that many poor fans were expected to part with their money,  for blatently faulty goods(album booklet and vinyl), only to be told its ok you can buy another re-vamped version soon.
I just see it as taking advantage of your fan base.

He mistook the Glasgow gig for the Ireland one, tut tut sad I'm going to start a thread complaining about that just to please Madagas.

KV just pointed out twice to the high horsed jarmo that nobody but him knew the story of the booklet.

I like the sound of checkmate being really called "Jackie Chan", it has the ring of another song that Buckethead played a big part in, seeing as he loves his martial arts.

I decided to take a bit of a break the last week or so from the GN'R quagmire, it was all getting a bit depressing. Supporting your favourite rock band shouldnt be such a miserable experience.
I was a little suprised to see this mornings turn of events, but not hugely. The backlash was gaining more and more ground and it wouldnt have been long until the media started picking up on it and made up some negative headlines.
Some move had to be made to quell the uprising, it was nice personal touch and he did give some interesting honest responces.
I hope Axl takes the batton and runs with it now, because giving a little means a lot to so many people across the globe, and by doing so he reduces the pressure on himself as people wont be so quick to attack him.

Its a pity he posts at HTGTH after I vowed not to use that place for anything other than pm's with friends, cause I would like to ask him a question or 2 as well.

Reading this smug comment from jarmo made my blood boil:

"Does the whining about the errors  in the booklet seem kinda pointless now?"

Karma for KillingVector for pulling the cunt up on his idiotic statement.

He confirmed another album which will be out same time next year at the earliest, wonder if they will use Best Buy lol.

I wonder what he meant by saying he "considered Chinese Democracy a double album"? It would be sweet if part 2 came out early next year.

Very cool of Axl to do this. I have said it for years, all it takes is the occasional small gesture to prevent the seeds of resentment being sown.

Drummer Explains Departure From Nine Inch Nails
By: Don Kaye

Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese has issued a statement regarding his departure from the band at the end of its current North American tour, concluding a three-year stint with the group. Freese wrote in part, "I know a few people are aware that I'm having my third child in January and basically... that about sums it up! I've just been gone too damn much lately and if I hadn't spent so much time on the road in recent years (between NIN, A Perfect Circle, Devo, Sting, the Vandals) coupled with having three kids (come January) then I'd still be out on the road in the new year. It's just that the rate that NIN has been touring (and will continue to tour in 2009) is something that I can't keep up with right now."

Freese added, "My kids need their Dad around and I want to be around for them. I am definitely not retiring or 'done touring'by any means though. I just need to be home a bit more next year." Freese said he had not received "a better offer" from another band and called his gig with Nine Inch Nails "one of my favorite situations I've ever been involved with."

Freese also wrote that he was "a big believer in Trent (Reznor, NIN frontman)," adding that he feels "fortunate and privileged to have had the chance to work alongside of him ... I have faith in the notion that we'll work together again at some point, in some fashion."

Former Lostprophets drummer Ilan Rubin has been tapped to replace Freese in Nine Inch Nails in 2009.

Freese has also been in demand for years as a studio drummer and has played on dozens of records by major artists. He told us a while back that it was hard for him to turn down offers to work: "The fact that I can go play drums and get paid for it, it's like, is awesome. It's really hard for me to say no about things like that. If I was super-rich, I would say no to a lot of these things, but I'm not, so that's how I kind of maintain making a living. I know a lot of great musicians that don't make a living playing music, and I kind of owe it to myself and them to work when someone calls me to work."

Reznor said in a recent post that the band's current tour, which features a large-scale, expensive stage production, will be the last of its kind from the group "for the foreseeable future."

Wow thats fucking ace!!

I hope he puts it on his solo album as well, its not bad at all for an old washed up "Prostitute"

#3369 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 863 weeks ago

Just as well they released this sucka cheaply, and at the busiest shopping period of the year, or else it would have sunk without so much as a ripple!

Some people are saying that sales dont matter, criticism doesnt matter - this album will be remembered in 20 years. I'm sure it will, but its entirely possible it wont be for the reasons they are imagining.

Its about high time one of Axls servants started ringing the alarm bell:

"Iceberg dead ahead!!!"

I'm ticking off the days until Azoff parts company with Mr Rose, there are reports the Andy Gould has already left.

There is no way they were brought in to instigate a reunion, there was a good product to promote and a genuinally anticipated product at that. But Axl spat the dummy over something and has dug his heels and refused to budge. Its the same way he has constantly conducted business his entire adult life. That guys attitude is hardly going to encourage universal/Azoff to burst a gut trying to push the album, not when they reclaimed the money Axl owed them from the Best Buy deal.
