Dunno mate.
You can hear it here:

About 57 minutes she starts banging on about it, playing old gnr in the backround.

I have seen a few screenshots of the new Classic Rock article, same old story they have ran for years, but now its complete. It does look pretty good, cant wait to get it.
I heard "Better" on Radio 1 in the uk, its already been edited. They have cut out the middle section and the "I never wanted you to be so full of anger" vocals.
The way its edited makes the song seem repetitive and jumpy. Better is one of the trump cards on the album, but I dont think that radio edit does it justice.

When I first heard the Catcher leak in 06 I thought at the time it had the potential to become a nice little summer anthem, it just had a lovely vibe to it.
For some reason the finished version doesnt have that vibe.
Mabye Scraped could become a hit single, I'm dubious all the same, cant even decide if I like it.
I cant see any others, Street Of Dreams mabye, but now it tries too hard to be huge and epic. Its suffocated the genuine emotion in the song.

AC/DC generated a huge wave of excitement in the build up to Black Ice. They were on the front page of multiple magazines on news stands, they gave multiple interviews appearing on radio shows, magazine, tabloid newspapers and TV, they announced a world tour that sold out instantly amid the excitement, they released a new song and video further increasing interest.
Casual music fans who were not particuarly AC/DC fans got caught up in the hype because the AC/DC badge, pictures of Angus and Brian and the Black Ice badge were everywhere. They way their comeback was marketed was flawless, everything about their return genuinally looked very exciting and passionate, it made people happy to see them return and made the public want to be a part of it and share the experience.
Chinese Democracy's launch has been woefull and seems more like an assembly of contrived token gestures.
The only people promoting it are in fact, not. They are promoting their solo albums, and god forbid they actually answer GNR fans with anything more than a vague mumble about a tour in 09.
Chris Pitman:
"Am I a spokesman for Guns N Roses? No, i am merely doing promo for my band SexTapes and thats why I am currently doing interviews. Everything that I say should be considered as both true and false."
What da fuck is that shit?
And people on the boards actualy greet it with "yeaaah man, good ol' chris! Pitman is god!!"
Beaten Wife Syndrome is such a good analogy to describe the GNR fanbase. A huge percentage of them are so servile its almost like an illness. Its on the slide though, more and more people coming around to the realisation that its we who dont owe them a damn thing.
#3387 Re: Guns N' Roses » What song(s) have grown on you the most? » 864 weeks ago
Honestly I'm cooling towards all of them. I think there are about 3 songs that I get an urge to play, IRS, Madagascar and Riad.
Scraped is ok I guess, mabye thats the grower (but I always found it ok anway)
I'm tucking the album away for a while, I'll next play it when I'm drunk on Christmas day and see how if the absence breaths a little more life into it.
Its become a bit of a chore trying to listen to it, telling myself that I should be gratefull to the lord and all things for the privilage of owning it...yawn.
Its got some hefty competition on Christmas Day though. Every year after dinner I pop open a bottle of whisky, throw on the Ritz88 dvd, after that I load up UYI 1 and 2 and blast them.
Its awesome, its the only day of the year I can crank up my music and get merrily drunk without anybody breaking my balls for doing so.
#3388 Re: Guns N' Roses » 8 reasons why Chinese Democracy stiffed » 864 weeks ago
I still enjoy the Maddy from RIR3, thats the oldest of the lot.
The demo sounded stale and soul-less compared to live versions, and I was gutted to find the final version was as flat as the "demo".
I'm a little drunk and stoned, but I have been listening to music all night. Its been great, I dug out all my old vinyl and been sitting having a private party. (me and my whisky)
I have been listening to all genres and I tucked away the turntable after a few hours and threw on the Chinese democracy CD because I was tired changing records. I was really fired up for listening to it, but it didnt sound that great to be honest. I found myself skipping songs and not finishing songs, it was ok, but not much more. I got to TIL and half way through turned it off, I had had enough.
For an experiment I put on Estranged straight away and it sounded fucking awesome. It was so rich, the drums, the bass and all the guitars, the vocals! It was great, it sounded like an amazing band.
The stuff beforehand didnt sound like a band, it was all so sterile and contrived
Mabye the album isnt doing as well as everyone predicted because it just doesnt sound good enough.
For all the raz-a-ma-tazz and fancy musicianship, it still sounds a little boring.
Honestly, if Sorry is considered one of the best and most single worthy then the album is fucked. I'm a huge GNR fan and I find it pretty mundane, god knows what joe bloggs would think of it.
#3389 Re: Guns N' Roses » What did you expect? » 864 weeks ago
Its definently the lack of communication hurting the fans most, it smacks of disrespect, and the whole, "not being owed a damn thing" argument is a terrible attitude for fans and the band to have.
There are some things in life you are entitled to for free.

I guess they went with Best Buy because those are the ones who offered to buy the most copies.
