#331 Re: Guns N' Roses » Robin back in NIN. Temp or not is the question? » 953 weeks ago

its interesting how no one really gets upset and starts reading into anything if Ron or Richard or Dizzy decide to do anything solo....but when Robin does it....its the end of the world...

its probably because of his personal case study with this band.
Every time he decided to do something on his own, it ended in a disaster in a way....also, its because he is going to another mainstream band....NIN...regardless of whether anyone likes them or not...IS a direct competitor to new gnr....and leaving the fold to go to the "enemy" in a way is not a good sign....

if he decided to play a few shows with a Japanese pop band, or even release a solo record, it would be cool....but Trent is too close to call the truth this time round...

Cast your mind back to the statement Robin released to the fans when they canceled the SA shows last year...go and read it again....one can clearly sense a bit of a disappointment in his tone....well, at least I did...

This, at the end of the day is not good news, and knowing how Axl reacts to these types of personnel changes, i wouldn't be surprised if we receive another statement about "pushing the guitar parts that one step further" again...

i agree with sic....Robin lasted this long, and there is no way he'd surrender just like that...not after all this time....unless he knows something we don't...i tend to think that he is just going out to earn some extra money, while he can...it appears that the schedule of this is not conflicting with anything GNR is or is not doing, so there is no real conflict of interest there either....

he's a fucking genius, he plays those appetite songs like a machine, and i for one would be really sad to see him go from gnr...as sad as i was when bucket left....

here's hoping this is nothing more than a "field trip"...

how do we know that this isn't just for a few tour shows?

if the band is inactive, preparing for the release of the album, all the corporate mumbo jumbo doesn't require the lead guitar man to be present at every fucking boardroom meeting...

Richard is allowed to tour with other bands, its ok when Ron records his solo stuff, Tommy is cool when he releases records, but when Robin wants to do something, everyone gets up and freaked out about it...

until we get official letter from gnr's new management team that Robin has left the band, treat it as something part time, something he wishes to do just to kill time while he's waiting for Axl...

the man's gotta eat, and if Trent pays well, then he must do it...

when did Scott recommend Bach?

and DTJ...what do you mean its getting bad in the press....other than this release, and Scott's take on Matt in that other letter.....was there more?

#336 Re: Guns N' Roses » Small CD mention by Sean Beavan (from '06) » 954 weeks ago

didn't Brain recommend Bucket too...or was it the other way around?
Also, Frank got a call because of Richard?
Same with Ron....someone else recommended him...?

Looks to me like Axl has been getting others to do his dirty laundry for quite some time...

Dr Pepper would have had to contact GNR's legal teams to use the names GNR, Axl and Chinese Democracy.

maybe...but....how do you explain Mick Wall's book which uses the gnr brand to sell copies?
or those other unofficial books?
or unofficial merchandise?

or these forums?
which have gnr and cd and pretty much everything else plastered all over their designs...we even use the gnr logos to promote ourselves...

its a valid point, but somewhere, there must be a "public domain" loophole....besides, Dr. Pepper didn't execute any artwork with CD or GNR on it...nor did they do anything other than a blog entry...and blogs are a public domain, therefore it should be pretty legit....

These new guys seem like action people to me, their cv's are a testament to that....and its not like they don't know who they're dealing with here....Axl has a solid "reputation" in the industry....if they end up losing credibility over his actions and moods, they will drop him like a sack of potatoes in an instant...

Merck needed that job...these guys don't....

which is a positive sign that we may just start seeing some progress after all these years...
